The best one, IMO, was the 1998 one which was an actual photo inside a booklet. Maybe it was the 1997 one. Long-timers remember the way Brian Maisonneve and Mike Clark would always look to the side. It was a thing they started at Indiana U and continued to do in Columbus.
Grelish is a noted party animal and drunk driving gambler idiot. He ain't coming here, but even if he would, Nancy wouldn't sign him. He plays for money to support his habits, that's it. He hasn't been a serious player for a while. Pass. Lacazette is a pro's pro, plays the 9 1/2 Cucho style where he can play anywhere in the front three. He scores, play makes, is good on PKs, is a good teammate and dude, and a leader. Speaks fluent French and English. Comparing the two is an insult to Lacazette.
FCC scares me and other teams are good and may add even more. The East is a beast ! Miami also isn’t afraid to move on and add new players if needed. You have to always look to improve or get left behind. Not getting a quality 3rd starter up top with Rossi & Gazdag would be insane
First of all, the team bought everybody a suit. Apparently they could each pick a fabric but otherwise every suit is identical.in cut, style and buttons, down to and including a jaunty little pocket square. And we needn't discuss Gazdags bizarre fabric choice but even then its the exact same suit. As for the ties, they're the same cut too. Same width, same fabric, etc. but also they all have the exact same knot. Its not that its everybody's first time tieing a tie, but rather it appears that the tailor sent someone who tied them all; when did 20 guys all show up to something with identical collar spread and identical knots? Only Nancy has a team logo jacket, although we saw those suits once before so we know that pretty much everyone - a few exceptions - has one just like his.
They’re from Pursuit Yourself, pretty sure their sponsorship ended and they just re-upped it last year?
Incorrect information (Crew Rhino’s source is South American) about Herrera. At the moment, the price is too high. We like him and he likes us, but unless they come down (currently asking 1.2), a purchase won’t happen. Disclaimer, this is our current stance and there is still time for negotiation be it a price reduction or loan extension. There is also the wild card of losing players to Europe (no info on that, but Farsi and others would love to go if given the chance).
Arfsten seems like a guy that might push for a move to Europe if the chance arises. He's slowly working his way into the NT picture and getting a move to Europe and actually performing well leading up to the WC would be his best way to sneak onto the roster. It's a pretty low chance of him making the roster, but that would be the best way to do it. I do think it's pretty likely he makes the GC roster though. Pulisic is reportedly being held out of the tournament. Weah won't be on the roster as well. Dest may be held out as he just came back from an ACL injury. Antonee Robinson may also be held out. So there will be a lot of openings at the winger and outside back positions. I would not be surprised to see Arfsten at the GC.
I like that. I think it's good to allow them some individuality. It's rare these days that I'll disagree with you, but I'm going to here. There's no way that a tailor let these guys get their photo taken with ties looking like that, and I highly doubt that ever tie was tied by the same person. There's also no way that Darlington and Steven have the same knot. And look at the back row - Yikes. What I will say it that it may have been like my high school senior year basketball picture, where there were only three of us who know how to tie a tie and we tied all the other guys' for them and they slipped them over their heads. I also realize that I'm picking on the guys and that it's very possible that a lot of the Gen Z players never have actually tied a tie before. Not their fault, just the way the world is these days. Some aspects of manhood are dead. Sigh.
Yes, I’m most worried about Max leaving too. If he has a good season, it’s a def possibility. No current interest, but he’s the type that would appeal to European teams. As I said, Farsi, Arfsten, Schulte, AZ, and JRR would all love to head to Europe. Thinking we might let JRR go pretty cheaply.
I suspect we will have a very lean june, roster wise. We will know shortly tho. Taha might go with the U20s too. We might have 11 dudes in training that first week in june
Ah, a man of the people. Not forgetting his proletariat roots while dressing in the clothes of the bourgeoisie.
Arfsten was rumored to the Czech league. Realistically, what is his level? Belgian league? Austrian? Swiss? Polish? He isn't a top 7 European League player in my mind.
I've watched a good amount of the Belgian and Dutch leagues, and I think he could be dropped into either league and perform well. He's above the Austrian, Swiss, and Polish leagues unless he's going to one of the top 2 teams in each league and will be playing European competition. If I were Max, I'd be trying to get to the Eredivisie both from a quality of life standpoint but also from a development standpoint. The Netherlands is a very small country, but incredibly easy to get around by train. Even if you end up at a smaller club in a smaller town, you are still probably only about a 30 minute train ride from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, or Eindhoven. The Dutch also tend to speak very good English, so the language barrier would be much easier to deal with there than other smaller European leagues. In terms of developing as a player, it's hard to beat the Eredivisie. They have teams like PSV, Ajax and Feyenoord that can challenge almost anyone in Europe. Max isn't at the level to play for those clubs (in my opinion), but he getting the chance to play for a mid-table club and play these big boys every few weeks will really challenge him and help him develop even more.
Color me confused at why players like Arfsten and especially AZ and JRR would be getting much interest from European leagues that could in any way be seen as a step up from MLS. Okay, JRR at least has some national team call-ups under his belt. But his Copa America experience last year was mostly confined to picking splinters out of his ass. I certainly can see a player wanting the experience of living and playing n Europe. I just can't see why they'd be appealing to clubs in leagues (like the Eredivisie) that could be seen as a step up from what they have now.
Hope he has an EU passport for the Eredivisie, they only allow 3 non-EU players per team, and there is something related to their salary as well.
I did 30 seconds of intense googling and nothing about Arfsten implies he has citizenship outside of the US. All I can find is that he was born in Fresno to parents Michael & Shelly Arfsten, and a site that says his dad was born in CA.
Last I checked, none of these players have actually left the club for Europe. So it could also be that they're not.
MLS teams not participating in the FIFA Club World Cup won't have access to this special registration window. However, all MLS teams can make summer additions during the Secondary Transfer Window, which runs from July 24 to August 21. According to MLS.com
