Should Brazil end up winning I do not think they will ever let Marta retire. She could be Brazil's "Sir Stanley Mathews" who England tried to get to come out of retirement at about 55 (maybe later) because he could make important plays late in matches.
I wonder: Can a Columbian player get touched and fall down without rolling around like they have been hit by a meteor?
x2 MARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
WTF...misses with her head then takes a random swing with her leg and somehow connects. Of course Marta and her fans will claim she was going to do that all along...
Whoa. She was lining that up for a header, realized she wasn't going to get it, and had the presence of mind to just stick a leg out and redirect it home. Sheesh.
And, of course, Marta gets another. I wonder if she realizes what this is doing to her retirement plans?
I also wonder if she could get one more and have a fabulous hat trick on top of everything else. She is also the PK taker so Colombia might jus gift her the hat trick.
Looks like we are now going to PKs, unless something else really weird happens. Both teams have a real weakness at 'keeper so the shooters will have more advantage than usual.
I wonder what language the players are arguing in. Colombia is Spanish speaking and Brazil is Portuguese and, in Brazil they almost refuse to speak or understand any other language. But almost all soccer players speak English so maybe that is what they are yelling at each other.
This has NOT been a fun match to watch, but it is interesting. I wonder if Colombia's GK is really injured or if she is just setting up Brazil to underestimate her.
Marta scoring two goals and then missing in the shootout is right on par with the wackiness of this game.
Somehow Brazil wins. It is somehow justified that the player that should have been red carded is the one that misses the last PK.
What a crazy game!! Refing kinda sketchy, soccer quality very uneven, with some real highs, but more mediocre stretches due to an overly physical game. BUT, incredibly entertaining! It had everything. Colombia gave it away a couple times, only to claw back into it, but couldn't pull out the PKs.
I'd love to see some replays from those PKs along the goal line. Looked like the keeper was off her line early on at least one of those saves.
