Clearly I jumped to the wrong conclusion but I am not entirely sure how to reconcile the Ticketmaster tickets with what they are offering through STH services. Pete (is totally confused)
Well, duh!!!! I can't believe you would be that cruel to poor Ticketmaster. They provide a service, dammit! A service!
https://meninred97.com/must-win-chicago-fire-vs-detroit-city-u-s-open-cup-preview/ “We’re going to play a very strong team,” Berhalter said, including Chris Brady, who is eligible to play in this match but will be suspended on Saturday against Atlanta United after a red card last week. “[Jack] Elliott defender, Hugo [Cuypers] we’re going to play up top, Maren will play, [Jonathan] Bamba will play. We’re playing a really strong team. In midfield, we’ll probably mix it up a little bit, but you know… it’s a strong midfield. We’re going strong. [Andrew] Gutman’s going to play. We’re going to put a really, really strong team on the field.” While the Fire might not field the exact starting XI that you’ll see on Saturday (or the week after), it also presents a chance for players who haven’t been able to crack the starting lineup, with Berhalter stating that the match will present an opportunity for players who are on the “cusp” of the starting lineup an “opportunity to show it on the field, we know we need depth and this is a great opportunity” for players in that situation. Sounds something like
Not sure how hog tied with injuries we’ll be but great if we play some starters to make sure we close it out.
IIRC everyone I have in my graphic guess XI was indicated as practicing today. And I think GGG will rotate after half time...regardless of the score.
He pretty much told you most of the starters in his several interviews. G - Brady D - ? (Dean/Glasgow/Reynolds) - ? (Cupps/Rogers) - Elliott - Gutman M - Kouame - D'Avila - Acosta F - MHS - Cuypers - Bamba
Didn’t hear the interviews this week…just saw the MIR97 article. Do you think he will gamble with D’avila as a starter?!
I hope so for selfish reasons. Let him try and replace him if we are at risk of losing because of him.
Solid win against Detroit in the round of 32! Next up is NER Next round ready 😤 #cf97 pic.twitter.com/aIIIyuTvuN— Chicago Fire FC (@ChicagoFire) May 8, 2025
Why Austin? We have played them, what, a single time? Also they are by far the least worst city in Texasistan. Plus, the owner tried to f*ck over Columbus. And they hired Josh Wolff as head coach. All reasons, to me, not to 'hate' them.
The owner trying to f over the Crew is exactly why I hate them...The Crew may be our greatest rival or one of...which to me means respect not hatred and trying to get rid of the crew to move to Austin was a horrid idea which thankfully MLS and the new owners of the Crew managed to nix. I Do like Josh Wolfe.
Nah, Precourt has actual money (not just his wife's money) and knows at least a bit about soccer. Sure, he is an absolute asshole, though.
The fields for last night’s SJ vs Por and tonight’s NYRB vs Dal matches look like real professional level soccer fields and crowds… The Fire having to play on small scale lumpy turf in front of hundreds makes me feel like we are truly having to build this club back from the 80s!

Actually tuned in for the draw (as I just happened to open my laptop exactly as it started. Thanks, @Pennsylvania Dave for putting the link in today's news) East Bracket: Philadelphia v. NYRB Nashville v. DC United Hosting Priority for the Semi finals NYRB Nashville DC Philadelphia
Fire are going to be the away team as we "don't have a home" to host a Quarterfinal match West Bracket Minnesota U. v. Chicago Fire San Jose v. Austin FC Semi finals "Hosting Priority" September 16/17 Minnesota Austin FC San Jose Chicago Fire So, the Fire on the road against Minnesota. When the Fire beat Minnesota, they play on the road in the semi final v. the winner of San Jose and Austin.
Apparently so. It was an odd comment that the person "supervising" the draw explained. A 'scheduling conflict' for July 8th, it seems. Strange, as the Fire play San Diego at home on the 12th and there is nothing on Soldier Field's schedule the week before that (Previous event is the Fire match v. Charlotte on June 28th) Bridgeview is hosting the "World's Fair US" the entire month of July (event is July 7th-28th) It will probably be incredibly cheesy, but looks like it could be fun. https://worldfairus.com/
