Alert: 2025 Chicago Fire Official OPTIMISM Thread

On the 360 show someone just said their “hot take” is that the Fire are going to make the playoffs and make a run at the cup.

 

Men in Red still above the playoff line. OPTIMISM!!!!!

 

I'm optimistic about this 3-4-3. Looks like Dje and Franco can handle the two MF duties. Having five defenders sure helped out Brady. Opinions?

 

Mostly agree but Gutman and Dean were playing well forward much of time.

 

Count me as one who doesn’t consider the “play-in” a “play-off.”

 

With all do respect to "old man" and to all who repped his quote, any game played after the regular season is a playoff game. Optimism people, optimism!

 

It’s the post season. It’s a playoff game.

 

Many things can be true at once, but while I agree that the play in is a postseason game, I don’t think it’s a pay off game, because that’s not what it’s called. As a great man once said, ‘I’m the dude, man, so that’s what you call me’.

I wonder how the statistics are categorized by the league- postseason, playoff or playin.

With four games to go, still above the playIN line. I was thinking about how hard it has to change a culture of consistent failure for so many years. Gotta get lucky with owner, front office, coach and team. Just nice to see fun football again.

 

If we beat the Crew I will be supremely positive.

 

Just a reminder: the MLS website calls the first post season games the playoffs.

Matt Doyle 22 under 22 list has Oregel at #21 and Brady at #9.
Good to see Fire youngsters on list- even if you don’t like Doyle.
Brady could have been rated higher, IMO.

 

Incredibly positive article about Christopher Cupps at MIR97. Everybody who can even spell Fire optimistic about his future. Almost a little scary. Could see an Elliott, Waterman, Cupps back row in some matches next year.
He could be on next years 22 under 22 list.

 

I would gladly have Cupps play in the backline 3-4-3 rather then Rogers.
