Update/ Correction- forgot to consider 2 warmup matches for Gold Cup on June 7 and June 10. May mean missing one additional match. Also, only US Open Cup match is July 8.
Postings indicate Pulisic will not be going, needs rest. If true, does this increase chances Gutierrez will be chosen? He could be leaving after 5-31 ORL match.

With reports of Pulisic and Reyna not joining, (if Club America beats LAFC May31st) Zendajas could make 3 not joining and seemingly make Guti a lock for a call up.

Except, he did not make the training cup squad, so I do not think it is a "lock for a call up" for Brian Gutierrez. Could still happen I suppose (the flu bug sweeps through the USMNT midfield corps), but not likely.

28 goals in 15 games is pretty awesome. Cuypers, Zink and Bamba have been sooooo much fun to watch this year. Cuypers last goal against Orlando was class. OPTIMISM!

Gasper looked good the first half of last match, especially considering how long since he last played. Of course, it was MLS Next.
Way, way too early to know if he will become a valuable backup but the Fire sure could use him.

What a nice email to wake up to this morning! Can’t wait to see this new stadium come to life. I didn’t think it’d actually get done!

I sort of saw it coming because without the Bears the city is not going to maintain Soldier Field. But I did not expect the Fire to win that particular location or to move with such speed.

Pete (is increasingly impressed with Joe's efforts)

Wonderful day yesterday! Really looking forward to new stadium!
At the risk of sounding greedy, am I asking too much if I hope for a new player announcement soon?

I think we have a keeper with GGG. His handling of Guti was spot on but did not come without risk. Fire up one nil and GGG could have caved to pressure and put Guti in after the Kouame knock. He didn't and kept the kid on the bench and Gutierrez got the "tuff love" I hope he needed to become a better teammate. That Fire midfield looks to be up for grabs and minutes will be earned in practice. Hell, maybe Zink, Williams and Acosta might be our top MF going forward. Good on Greg to sticking to his guns.

Just one of many good moves by him. Most recently, I have been impressed by the interchangeability of his midfield. When “new” players are inserted, due to a variety
reasons, the team still follows the plan and players know what to do.
