Was going to send a photo to my friend "Sporting's broadcast is as flat as you are" but then we conceded and her seeing us being 1-0 would be funnier than the bad joke. I've almost pre-emptively compartmentalised this season as being like the JJ years - "please just get CL" we're getting worse in so may areas of the pitch
better hope for another red card, seems to be the only way we can win willing to pay 20 mil or whatever it was for Jota Silva and not even looking at Gustavo Sa is pretty funny
Thank god for Pote! In a world where the Sporting reddit has been going on about bad apples, I think Pote has to be second to Coates in 'imported' legends - not from the academy but I bet he bleeds green and white
It's probably the only good thing about him being continuously snubbed by the national team (and the associated Agent reasons for that) that keeps him off wasting away at a premier league club. I was worried he wouldn't be the same after his injury streaks, but he's popping up again and again
Reversed his hero arc No-one wanted him as said he was shit. Confuddled us with a couple of good performances. Returned straight back to what he was known to be.
We're lacking someone who you 100% know will charge on into the box ready to get on the end of a ball. Everyone wants to be the final knock on, worse when this formation feels like it's meant to hit on the break
Kocho reminds me of Rinaudo a bit. Seems to be trying really hard but just doesn't have a lot of quality on the ball honestly. Famalicao has just walked into the box through the midfield multiple times now. Luis Suarez still hasn't shown what someone his cost should show. Hopefully Fotis can be more of a presence in the box. Mangas is Mangas. Debast and Inacio are too similar to play together imo. Both great on the ball, but not very strong defensively. Edu needs to be in there. Trincao, Pote, and Hjulmand will need to hard carry this team if we want to win anything this year. We sorely need someone else on the wing or in the middle.
Suarez gets the goal and he's constantly running and closing down opposition, I think he's been good and only getting better. Dude scored 4 goals for Colombia this past week. Agreed on the rest.
FT 1-2 - 3 precious points vs. a typically tough opponent, one of the harder away games for sure. Up next, must win CL home game vs. Kairat and then Moreirense at home
He's also constantly out of position and has missed a lot of sitters. I just expected a little more for the money tbh. I'm pretty consistently wrong about these guys though, so who knows. Don't really care what he does for Colombia. Second half was much better though, played well until the goal then just switched off to hold the lead. Really like the way Famalicao plays. One of the only teams to not just park the bus against the big 3.
oof terrible pen why is he even taking them? He looked scared from the get go. Pote or Luis Suarez. It's their job to score.
