If you're coming out of the net to punch the ball like that you have to win it.

But yes Defenders, particularly Inacio, are weak, need Diomande back there

Whole team minus Maxi and Quenda look awful. Great passes but it appears they want to dribble the ball in the net.

That's what happens when you waste chances and try dribbling the ball into the net rather than SHOOT THE FUCKING BALL

Hjulmand but he was far from our worst player. Pote was the worst player on the field all game long. Dude got 90 minutes too. Trincao was anonymous again as well. Morita and Kocho both sucked. Literally nobody played well minus Rui Silva, Quenda, and Allisson. Allisson had 20 minutes and looked like the best player on the field. We need to start having serious conversations about benching Pote for Allisson.

Don’t think Pote was that bad. He set up a couple assists that should’ve been goals and was directly responsible for the goal.

The conversation that needs to be had is about firing Rui Borges. All well and good beating small teams, but it’s always a draw or loss against anyone that actually counts. Small team manager and small team mentality. Four “big” games and 3 losses and one draw. Fire him.

also, Kocho is genuinely a horrible player. Can’t control the ball whatsoever. Stop playing him.

Anyone know why we paid 25 mil for the Greek guy that can’t score and doesn’t play? Still trying to figure this one out.

Have to agree with Borges, things ended up staying the same after our rivals drew but he's your typical Portuguese coach that likes to play it safe and take few risks. We could have had at least a draw at Napoli and Braga was a winnable game at home

To be fair, Borges beat Benfica and Porto right after they hired him. But yes, outside of subbing out certain players at certain points in the game, he has zero ability to make tactical adjustments to his formation to counter opposing teams. Today was another example. One of the worst Braga teams ever and he made zero tactical adjustments to apply more pressure or get more finishers into the game. Subbing off Suarez for Ionnaidis rather than playing them both at the same time. Bringing in Fesneda for Vagiannidis. For what? What's Fresneda going to do?

But Pote was awful. Dude wasn't good. Consistently misplaced passes, out of position, etc. To me, he cannot play out wide. He needs to be in the middle of the field. Plain and simple.

Also, this thing ass squad is too top heavy and not built to play 4 competitions in a season. This is why it was a terrible idea to cheap out and avoid getting another LW and box to box midfielder.

I feel January we might sign someone, we tried on deadline day to sign wingers for a record fee, it's like the Gyokeres drama delayed everything in the summer. Kocho I felt was going to be good, even though he came from La Liga 2, so did Suarez and Gyokeres, and Kocho is an international, but yeah it's not been good at all.

But this is the point I'm trying to make to you and @SCP21: I'll give RB the benefit of the doubt because he literally has nothing to work with. We didn't improve the squad in the summer. The window was run by a bunch of amateurs and we embarrassed ourselves with the Jota fiasco. He literally has zero other options on the left hand side. Because of that, it's legally hard to properly evaluate his performance.

Not really though, this is a squad that has won the league several times with less of a bench. I agree that the summer was a disaster and we didn’t improve the squad. But the squad shouldn’t be playing this poorly. Hjulmand went from the best midfielder in the league to looking pretty average. Trincao and Pote are playing 90 minutes every game out of position. Only person playing well is Maxi. And it’s on the manager to get these great players to play well. He’s not doing a good job at that.

Also, did you see the players Borges wanted? I’m not convinced we would be better off if his plan to recreate Guimaraes worked.

Yea that's fair too. He does own responsibility in getting the most out of his players. I do think Yaremay would've made a difference on this team for sure.

Just what we needed - extra time a few days before probably our most key CL match to get a result out of.

Against a team 3rd Last in the 2nd division.....(and the only two teams below them are Benfica and Porto's B teams.....)

Our own damn B-Team is top of that League and even beat Pacos themselves 3-0

Borges can't get it done and it's showing, last few games have been trash.
At this rate we'll be 3rd in the league bottom section of the CL and with shit results and somehow he'll survive, I see no up side from him.
