With <2 weeks to the first match, here's what the Rapids have done with their off-season after missing the playoffs (let me know if I missed anything significant). Replaced the manager with a guy who hasn't managed a first-team professional match. Replaced a solid center back (who apparently wanted to leave) with an 18 year old. Replaced the starting left back with 2 guys that weren't good enough, which is why they acquired the guy who has since left. Replaced 2 home-grown center mids with a guy that (based on a little ESPN research) hasn't played a competitive first-team match since May. Replaced a winger with another winger (who might be an improvement). Signed some kids. Not exactly confidence-inspiring. (Just noticed that ESPN shows Alex Harris as 31 years old)

Kinda sorta a poor man's version of the Nuggets "city" jersey. I wish the tipped sleeves and collar had similar striping as the City jersey. Don't love it. Definitely don't hate it. I think it will grow on me. How much it grows on me all depends on how well the team does. And if I'm being honest...... much better and cleaner than many of the MLS kits released.
I think the new home shirt is awful. I wouldn’t buy it if it were $5. I’m with @nowar99 - it looks like a practice jersey. And “Colorful Colorado” when the shirt is black? I don’t think that the RFO knows what they are doing.
The team has a cloud over it right now. It’s depressing. Therefore, when the kit is pretty meh looking, it actually feels worse. If we were winning, I’d like it better.
I'm going to reserve judgement on the new kit until I see it on the field, but it really does seem like a low effort design that was approved with apathy.
I ordered one from Altitude Authentics customized with "Fire Padraig". They canceled my order a few hours later, lol.
Sometimes I chuckle at just how pessimistic we all are about the coming season. While we've been pessimistic before, this season may exceed all previous doubts. A Rapids' fan, a priest, a rabbi a walk into a bar. Bartender asks, “Is this some kind of a joke?”
I'd recommend going through the MLS shop instead of Altitude Authentics. I just attempted a similar order today with slightly altered text and it's ~$30 cheaper. Odds are their approval control isn't a petty as KSE's in-house shop, but it was still fun to try and order it through them for trolling purposes since I successfully forced at least one human being on the KSE payroll to look at my order, seethe about it, and then decide "We don't want your money."
I just realized that a red Hamzet and biohazard symbol would look metal as hell on that black jersey. Now I just need to find a large, red, iron on biohazard symbol...
