BREAKING: Inter Miami is nearing a deal to sign Canadian int'l GK Dayne St. Clair, per sources.

St. Clair, 28, just was named MLS GK of the Year.

Huge signing for Miami, who just won MLS Cup.

 

We saw some reporting (can't find it) that the rest of the conditional GAM relates to the HG player Jamir Johnson and likely won't be met since he is apparently highly likely to head to PSV as soon as he turns 18. (He's 17 1/2 ish it think).

So most likely the GAM that will change hands here is $1.1m over two years.

 

#GAMBAOSAKA defender Keisuke Kurokawa (28) is set to complete a permanent transfer to #MLS side DC United.

I do have one question, the Rapids used their #6 pick to draft a player that played last season with CR2... That seems odd.

Apparently because Diop went to high school in the U.S. but then did not go to college, turning immediately to soccer, MLS still considered him part of the college class and since the Rapids didn't have homegrown rights on him he was required to go through the draft.

Also the Rapids did not think this rule would apply when they signed him to R2 and were apparently a bit put out with the league deciding this fairly late in their planning. My guess is that they had intended another direction with their first pick at #6 but didn't want to run the risk of losing him.

I would find it extremely funny if the "unnamed MLS team" just happened to have one of Padraig Smith's former subordinates on the payroll, and this was done purely as a "eff you".

Griezmann is a huge NBA fan. I think Michael Jordan sold his stake in the Hornets, but he still has Charlotte connections I’m sure. Jordan should give Griezmann a call.
