The main thing that makes Puig great in MLS is that he gives a f********. I’d be happy to be proved wrong, but this deal doesn’t seem like James has much of an incentive to care about the team and MN at all.
Now there are reports that James' contract will be through December. Potentially that would be a game changer as far as I'm concerned. (I say potentially, since he may not have the same motivation post-World Cup as he does before it.) The back half of Minnesota's schedule has road games with Orlando, Atlanta, and Seattle if anyone is looking for the potential of very large crowds.
Official https://bsky.app/profile/mnufc.com/post/3me7e4ucaul2q Él está aquí. The club has signed Colombian international attacking midfielder James Rodríguez to a guaranteed contract through June 2026, with a club option through December 2026. Details » https://utd.mn/4klMtQZ

Is this a player rumor? Just asking for someone who the mods always yell at for talking about things that have nothing to do with the thread title.
It guarantees that if he stinks, they aren't stuck with him. It also gives them another window to sign a player.

We know the club needed help at the striker position but this looks like a much different profile. This current season he’s played 26 games, 1,445 minutes, with 7 goals and 3 assists. Looks like Duncan could have competition at striker. Shout out to @mikeaspillane who caught it first! #VamosOrlando #OCSC

And we were thinking that CHIVAS USA disappeared, but they are moving it to Mexico little by little, this will be their 6th USA player.
I can confirm from sources that the news that connect Nariman Akhundzade to #OrlandoCity are completely false. Orlando City has never heard of this player. Orlando is trying to sign an attacker DP, preferably a young striker with potential (not necessarily a 9), and a RB. #MLS pic.twitter.com/AtBjHpKF92— Luis Carlos Pineda (@pineda_orl) February 8, 2026 can confirm from sources that the news that connect Nariman Akhundzade to #OrlandoCity are completely false. They figured out that buying Mexican-American players are cheaper in MLS than buying Mexicans in Liga MX. Everyone in Liga MX knows the policy of Chivas so they rack up the price on them. Plus some of these MLS players going to Chivas aren't doing so bad even if in MLS they went unnoticed like Efrain Alvarez and Daniel Aguirre. Wouldn't doubt if we see Diego Luna soon there.
Chivas is owned by Omnilife, a Herbalife clone. Every American they sign has to sign up two more Americans.
