What if I told you their record in the ACC since 2019 is 3-47-6? Is that trashing the program, or honest statistics? This includes 0-win conference seasons the last two years and in 3 of the last 4.
I was not talking to you. I wrote in response to another poster highlighting the headline of the GAME.
Syracuse does suck in the ACC. That conference record is awful. But they’ll never be decent in that juggernaut of a conference. What I don’t get is why they can’t beat mid majors. They’ve tied Maine and Fairfield, and lost to Delaware, plus Cornell and Niagara now in multiple years. If it weren’t for Title IX they could eliminate the program. That program couldn’t even win mid major conferences much less have a prayer of getting 2-3 ACC wins.
I think the coaching will be better than assumed and they are currently 2-0 on the year. And rumor has it they just made the game field fully enclosed- beat that Stanford.
Texas A&M starting off with a 1-0-2 record. Tied Baylor and TX State and barely beating Lamar. Not a great way to stake a claim for a contract extension if you're coaching for your job.
Did anyone else catch this? During the ESPN broadcast, the announcers mentioned that Dartmouth head coach Taylor Schram is away for personal reasons. Kind of surprising to miss the opening game of the season, makes you wonder if something’s going on with the program. Also, how about Cornell tying BC in Newton for their first game of the season. That should fire everyone up for the season ahead.
Lamar and Texas State are very improved this year, but it’s a drastically inferior A&M compared to even their worst teams based on watching first couple of games.
Sad that your first thought has to be "maybe something is going on with the program" instead of "I hope everything is alright with her and her family."
You lost me at Marquette. Chris Allen is not warm, he's not simmering. He's as secure as could be. This was a great hire by Marquette. Your post wasn't a hot take, it was a bad take.
This is the San Jose State coach's first season, too. Me thinks little research was done to make this post.
Didn’t realize caring had a specific order of operations — I just went with the most likely issue first.
Marquette is not warm at the moment, but I agree the jury is still out on this hire. Other coaches in the conference are not concerned about this program improving based on what they saw last year, so I think there is a lot of work to do. Syracuse, Florida, Missouri are schools that have all been mentioned that need to do a lot better. I believe Troy was mentioned that could potentially be another. A&M is on fire. I will be shocked if there isn’t a coaching change after this season. This has been (along with Florida and Syracuse) spoken about a lot among coaches at recruiting events and I think we could be seeing a change in November.
Disagree on Lamar - they were fairly good in 2023 when they had the old coaches team still. Since then have gone down drastically. Assistant coach/recruiting coordinator has done an awful job, is too busy on social media about building something special and a culture 'first' mentality there. Unfortunately, college soccer is a results game now. Texas State on the other hand looked much improved and by the looks of their roster are still missing parts. FSU transfer did not play any minutes yet which will be a good addition to their squad.
This off season should have a lot of movement with coaches at the power four level. Michigan, Florida, Texas AM, Missouri, Iowa State. I am sure that I missed a few more. I wonder which season in recent times had the most power 4 job openings?
Texas continues to do the least with the most. 1-2-1 on the year so far with losses to Northwestern State and Houston.
Texas admin were shopping Ange's job around before Missimo came and saved her. Have to imagine that she'll be back on the hot seat. Losing these games with this much talent is a skill!
Dartmouth College Women’s Soccer Head Coach Taylor Schram is currently serving a four-game suspension for violating NCAA rules. In the meantime, she has been contacting Division II and Division III programs in search of an opponent this Sunday. Securing such a matchup would enable her to complete her suspension early and return to the sidelines for Dartmouth’s opening game against the University of San Francisco during their upcoming West Coast trip.
Nothing unethical. Fulfilling a schedule happens all the time. Get games in when you can. It’s well within the rules to schedule this way.
I'm sure that you're well are of the difference between the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. All the best!
