Right, he's not on the Athletics Department directory. He still is on the team's roster page, but I suspect the directory is correct.
offer was made and accepted. Expect an announcement literally any day. Pretty weak applicant pool, not to be surprised given the location.
Excited about Fresno and UCLA meanwhile silence from Sacramento. Looks like top assistant left or another job. Montana keeps getting turned down.

If true, that's good to hear. Always thought Fred was a good guy, hard worker. Interesting that several St. Peters kids suddenly in the portal this week. If they are on money, the only 'exemption' is a coaching change....I thought... seems to change every week based on court cases... No entry on the Staff listing rn - very strange Edit - only 1 portal entry from Bonaventure so far which is interesting as well. Could be the players wanted a change and will stay and support a new coach. They can't get any worse in the A10.
St. Peter's is making a coaching change. Didn't make an official announcement yet but the players know hence the portal entries
Curious to see the direction that Iowa goes: Current P4 D1 head coach? Current mid-major D1 head coach? Successful D2 coach? Current D1 assistant?
Confirmation: Welcome to The Hill, Fred King! 👏King comes to Wagner after four seasons as an assistant at Penn and 10 seasons at Saint Joseph’s, with additional stops at Rutgers, Harvard, and Tufts.#LetsFly pic.twitter.com/6xeEbww5Y1— Wagner College Soccer (@WagWSoccer) February 6, 2026
I would like to see the trend of Big 10 schools hiring D2 coaches continue. Diiani (when first hired at Iowa), Hosler at Michigan State, and Katie Hultin at Illinois - they’ve all done well.
That’s fair. But Baylor and LSU coaches have both done well. Xavier’s coach came from D2 also, if I recall correctly. Not a P4, but has done well. I just like to see the “underdogs” get a shot. Iowa’s basketball coach is only one year removed from D2. Maybe Iowa is on to something.
Agree with these sentiments about head coaches moving up. Not a big fan of the d1 pedigree argument, esp these days, but still good to see hard-working AC's get their chance too. I'd bet a very common strength of these, and all good coaches, is an eye for talent and "fit", knowing where to find good players when others don't. Many have been worker-bee recruiters. Good ADs and committees should understand and see it. Plus, their probably much cheaper than bringing in a same-level HC! btw - anyone know the Michigan contract numbers? Salary and years?

Why will Stuart Gore do well at Montana, he didn’t do anything noteworthy at Troy Walking into a bare cupboard. Big rebuild other everyone left for WSU. If he makes them somewhat competitive in 2-3 years that will be an impressive feat
You can't even compare the Sun Belt to the Big Sky. In 2024 Troy beat Eastern Washington and EWU finished 3rd in the Big Sky that year with a conference record of 4-1-3.
