Think your info may be off, he’s not looking to go anywhere. He owns multiple businesses and is only coaching where he is because they told him he doesn’t have to do anything but coach.

Unless major unrest, surprised they would buy her out when, as I have heard, they don’t support the program that well in the first place as compared to other PL schools.
Not every contract has a buyout. Some coaches have a multi year contract but it is really an at will 30 day contract. The multi year contract is more of a recruiting tool so a coach can say they have a long term contract.

Well Heather at UNM took the USWNT U23 team instead of looking for bigger college fish, good for her. Is UNM a pretty good job, great facilities, but hard to recruit any big level players to New Mexico, not a ton of appeal for top level transfers or players to go there. They can compete top 4 in mid major conference, but won't be regular top 75 RPI competitor. Surprised Ole Miss moved on so fast, they were all excited about that hire a few years ago. That was quick. Southern Miss, I understand the dismissal with poor record the past few years. But head coach or his wife was battling cancer during that time and hard for him to get out much to recruit or do other when his heart, mind is in another place. I understand, just a tough situation to deal with. I know a few other coaches D1 battling the same ailment right now, also struggling to be present for team and I feel for them as its tough to focus without your health. UNLV would be a fun job. A place people love to visit, grab top internationals and the CA players, could do really well there with a good hire I think.
I am not going to judge the hire but I do know the emotional fallout from the athletes is that there will be a mass exodus to the transfer portal. Competing towards the top of the conference with the previous coach became an expectation in that program and the athletes don’t have confidence this can happen with the hire. I would like to see Gore from Troy end up at USC Upstate I think he could do a great job there.
.... and lost the last 5 games by a total of 6 goals. So not getting your point. We all get our start somewhere and she sounds like a competent coach and good person. I'd give it a chance before piling on
I know Chris Gnehm at Indiana State applied and didn’t get a call. This to me would have been a better hire than the person who led the team to dead last in one season.
Long time lurker, first time poster. I don't always agree with Collegewhispers' posts in this thread and others, but I do agree about UNI. Tell us you don't care about your women's soccer program, without telling us you don't care about your women's soccer program.
The way I look at Florida, it is not a good decision. She inherited a mess. Their ratings this year are NCAA RPI 79, KPI 82, Massey 57, Balanced RPI 64. (The latter two are better indicators of true strength.) These mean the team seems to be moving in the right direction from when she took over.

I disagree. Florida improved significantly this year and I find this a rather bizarre decision for that reason. As CP noted, the program was an absolute mess when this coach took over.
