We are VERY lucky not to be three or four down at the half. We look about as dangerous as a fluffy bunny rabbit.
There should be at least three subs at the half (two defenders and one forward) just to get a few lazy players off the field if for no other reason.
I see Dudley is still staggering around the field. The USA made no changes and that is disappointing. The defens and the forwards are left out there to fail. I do not see a comeback happening but PRK's lack of finishing and tendency to over pass could let the USA hang around and that could be dangerous for the PRK. Just ask Germany.
Apparently because the current coach is still suffering from the "Vlatko Andonovski" disease and does not know that variety is good in soccer.
I'm so happy to see so many youth players on pro clubs, that's a very good sign for USA soccer. I hope that number goes up in the next iteration of this tournament.
We get so narrow that we are not really playing with a full field and that is a problem because it makes our recovery runs longer. So we have two of the three, at minimum, I wanted at the half. It only wasted 15 minutes or so. Stupid coaching. We still don't play defense. We got lucky on PRK's last attack that the player was offside and we have Wy in goal.
I think USA would do better if they started man-marking the DPR players in certain situations in the midfield.
Wy is starting to hid the ball as far upfield as possible. I don't blame her as her defense is "unreliable" at best. That might be a good idea. it at least would help fix our lack of width. PRK stays well spaced most of the time.
Bad challenge, but difficult viewing angle for USA's coach. They needed someone in the 'replay booth'. Like NFL teams have, LOL.
I don't think our players are truly tired. They are playing like our men's team in a lot of situations where they receive he ball and think about it for a while before passing. I would be happy to see some defense being played by the USA. Some of the defense resembles what used to be called "matador" defense where the defender yells Olé to warn the keeper an attacker is coming.
We just had the first shot that looked like it had a chance but PRK's keeper saved it easily. We got a series of corners and looked pretty predictably pathetic. (alliteration intentional) We still are looking like non-dangerous bunny rabbits.
PRK is making several little mistakes. But we cannot seem to take any advantage of that. We have used all our regular match subs and PRK has used none. I believe the earlier sub pattern for PRK was more making evaluations that punishing anyone and the coach feels he has his best 11. Some PRK players are almost slowing down enough to let the USA players keep up.
PRK never got their 2nd goal so we never started playing. After the Germany match I stuck with this through the end. It was not pretty, unless you wanted PRK to win. Really if Dudley was not playing from the start we might have a goal or two. The next match is not for a while. I have time to make a late supper
