I may have to apologize to @Sounders78 and Jitty about the switch to Harris but I will be damn to do so, if this momentum leads to a win.
Cori Bush has been primaried I’ve seen enough: Wesley Bell (D) defeats Rep. Cori Bush (D) in the #MO01 Dem primary.— Dave Wasserman (@Redistrict) August 7, 2024
It doesn't sound like her replacement is going to be an ethical improvement. There were several allegations of misuse of county funds and creating a hostile work environment for female employees in his office.
Yes but she said bad things about Israel so AIPAC funded her opponent, similar to Bowman. Both of them seemed to think they were standing on stone and it turned out to be sand. Sure AIPAC may have played a role but somewhere along the way they lost connection with the people that got them there. I don't follow either close enough to know the details but I know politics and you see Presley and others hold on so it's not just their unpopular opinions. It is the ground game.
She was simply not being good at this. From what I read, she lost touch with her constituents, preferring the national spotlight and twitter fights. I mean, how do you vote against the Infrastructure bill (because not progressive enough?), a major democratic bill and pretend afterwards to have supported it? She has never switched from being a strident activist to a legislator. The investigation on misused funds on her boyfriend-turned-bodyguard (or the reverse) was a bad look as well.
I wish we could get a poll out of Montana by a respectable pollster. There has only been polls done by Republican pollsters over the last six months. Assuming the Dems win the presidency and VP, control of the Senate will likely come down to the Montana race. It would be nice to have some idea what’s going on there.
Well Bush is not saying that the election was stolen, so that is good and she has every right to keep her political life alive and get into office in the future. Cori Bush defiant in defeat: "All they did was radicalize me, so now they need to be afraid." "They about to see this other Cori, this other side," she said. "AIPAC, I'm coming to tear your kingdom down." pic.twitter.com/690T0aEhmZ— Mark Maxwell (@MarkMaxwellTV) August 7, 2024
Literally every Republican did this exact same thing. Bush just pulled one from the Republican handbook here. Her replacement is not any different. He was accused of misusing tens of thousands of dollars of funds from the Prosecutor's office in his first 10 months as county prosecutor. Both? Her bodyguard that turned into a boyfriend, whose services she used as a bodyguard.
So because the republican did it, it is ok for her as a democrat not to vote the party line, but still claim she did when the going got tough? I do not get that logic. Fine, if the replacement is a crook, hopefully the good people of this district will decide. For now, they have decided Bush is not reliable and not in touch with their needs. Fact is that she is under federal investigation for misusing campaign funds related to her bodyguard/boyfriend. At th end of the day, she was not good at her job. She ********ed up and found out....
It would likely be more accurate if I had said every politician does this. Is it annoying? Yes, but it also isn't disqualifying because, by and large, the reason why specific projects get on a bill is because the congressperson from that district put it there. So even if they voted against the bill, they still did that? Kinda.
Here's a new one by Emerson. Sheehy +2 over Tester based on likely voters with +/- 3 margin of error.
The last time I checked, she was elected as a democrat....The least she could do is to support th party. Anyway, she is gone now and she won't be missed.

Emerson seems to have a slight GOP bias built into their polling, so it’s quite likely Montana is a dead heat right now.
