Lubbock Matadors (NPSL) 2:0 FORO SC (UPSL) BY: Jordan Beech The Lubbock Matadors of the NPSL were the sole amateur team to punch their ticket to the Third Round on Wednesday night after besting FORO SC, 2-0, at home in the Lone Star State. The match was the only match of the Second Round to pit two amateur teams against each other. After a scoreless second half, Salvador Martinez scored the opening salvo in the 71st minute following a free kick. The ball fell to Martinez’ feet inside the box and he coolly slotted it home for the hosts. Lubbock then took advantage of a 76th-minute red card to FORO to salt away the match with a goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time through Shuma Sasaki who connected on a corner from Douglas Appiah-Kubi. {FULL MATCH REPORT}

The Dynamo will host Detroit in the Round of 32 (May 7/8). If we win that we go to the winner of Indy 11/San Antonio in the Round of 16 (May 21/22).
They mentioned on the draw broadcast that Shell was going to be unavailable for R16. I’ve looked around but can’t seem to find an apparent reason why.
Just spit balling, I would suggest that Shell Stadium was going to be utilized for the Houston OTC which occurs each May here in our great city. However, NRG Park is the site.
No this is the date for the R32 that the Dynamo will host. R16 is May 21/22 and I can’t see any other conflicts. It’s a month before Copa America so no teams are using it as a training.
