Cameroon's on the verge of making big upset... ... unless its not, 30 sec into extra time and Brazil scores
Neither match today has been fun to watch. We have Spain playing as boring as possible and we have Brazil cheating at every chance. Of course it has not helped that Canada and Cameroon are severely unskilled. Even Cameroon's GK can't catch easy balls while the GKs of the other three are not much better. I hope for better in the second pair of matches.
I added your request here, because someone on the international side may know where to find what you're asking for.
I'm afraid that Austria is totally overmatched in this but PRK looks like they want to gift Austria a few chances and maybe at some point an answering early goal. BTW: I did not see any foul on the GK during the first Austrian corner. I think DPR may have been expecting Austria to roll over and play dead after the first goal. That ain't happening.
Austria equalized from DPR giving up set pieces. Will see if the review request reverses this. I saw nothing wrong at all but DPR seems to think something was wrong. I wish sideline conversations were broadcast. But the goal was good.
The referee seems to really like blowing her whistle. I can't complain about the quality of her calls, yet, but I'm always concerned when a referee intrudes this much early in the match. Now we have a review request for potential handling offense in the box. The review failed. DPR should not have requested that review. DPR just screwed themselves out of one of their review requests for nothing.
Austria for certain will not just roll over... but the question is how long can they run. The moment they'll stop - it's over. Koreans for sure gonna be deadly in 2nd half thus Austria needs to find another goal before this half ends. meanwhile Germany scores 2nd goal... and 3rd... uh floods gate opened
This match (PRK vs Austria) has all the earmarks of being very rough. I hope the referee is better than she has seemed early.
I do have a question: Can Austria defend in the open field without fouling. There is a yellow that will be a second yellow if it is upheld but even though the foul was mistakenly called or not called Austria is down to 10. I am not sure this whistle happy ref got that right at all but the second yellow was for descent not for the foul. It looks like, intentionally or not, Austria has jest ceded the match to PRK. It is just a matter of time before PRK gets more, potentially, a lot more.
Now 2-1. What is the record for number of goals in a knockout round? PRK is looking like they could set a new record if they want. I was about to switch my primary viewing over to the other match but that match is effectively over as well. Germany also looks like they could set the record as well.
Austria is not, yet, mathematically eliminated but playing a goal down against PKR and player short is not promising for any comeback. But we will see. PRK is not really looking like they will put this away soon.
I've always detested back passes in the defensive third. The good they do is very often negated by the danger. I did not see it: Was it a direct pass into goal or did Argentina have to do something?
