As of the last stat I saw, they have the second highest payroll, by some margin over the next highest paying side, and they barely qualified for CL and play shit football. That's only just recent as they had the highest payroll in Serie A for years and have been irrelevant for a long time. We're moments away from the season and barely have a full side. How is that well run?

They've been actively trying to reduce that high payroll, with two dropping off recently and another one probably today or tomorrow. They're trying to get rid of a couple more highly paid players as well, if they can they will be pretty close to Milan who has 3rd highest and not much higher than Roma.

They qualified for the CL, ahead of two other teams. Three points out of 2nd place. Other than Inter, not many other teams were all that impressive.

So your argument is poorly ran because they didn't win anything and had the highest payroll. Now that they're trying to change it by actively getting rid of many of the highly paid, under performing players and bring in in younger players on lower salaries with a new coach, you're still unhappy.

Have you looked at this transfer season? How many teams are really excelling in it? Juve has a new project, new coach, new DS, it's not going to be 1-2-3. There will be bumps in the road.

But to say that it's one of the worst ran teams in Italy? You're not paying attention to the other teams then are you. Field performance doesn't equate to being ran well. Inter has done well on the field, the team has been utter dog shit for years in how it's ran. Imagine if Juve had an owner like Inter had, the fines it would face. Instead it got away with it, meanwhile other clubs struggle and the league wants to shut them down.

All I will say on this subject is that compared to the way we were run under Bepe and Moggi, we have been very poorly run in comparison. When Bepe was in charge we were one of the best run clubs in Europe let alone Italy. Same with Moggi. That is why the worked so hard to get The Turtle banned for life.

Ever since the Bobsey Twins ran their coup on Bepe and went all in on CR3.5 for business development reasons, not footballing ones, we have been a isht show.

The jury is out on Giuntoli, but I like the fact he was decisive with Max, brought in his guy, and is trying to build a team to Motta's specifications. It will not happen overnight, but we can't just ignore the missteps either.

I am waiting until the window closes and we play a few games before passing judgement.

His mom is his agent, he can always tell her to accept less.

Seems to be an issue with certain players this season, Rabiot, McKennie, Chiesa....

Ummm....his Mom is his Mom. She wears the pants in that relationship. I do believe she also collects a hefty fee for steering him to his ultimate destination.

    Keeping it in the family.

So we forget all the poor moves they have made in the post-Marotta era because they are just now offloading payroll? Was it smart for them to extend Alex Sandro? You praise them for cutting ties with Szczesny, but they extended his contract in 2020 at these inflated wages. I get that wasn't Giuntoli; but it is indicative of how crappy management has been in recent years

Who is going to play in attack for this side? We weren't impressive last year in that facet of the club and they did nothing to improve that component of this team. Meanwhile we've bought and/or were linked to a million midfielders where we did have some depth.

I don't really care a great deal about what other sides are doing. I care about what Juve, arguably the most prominent team in Italy, are doing. It has not been impressive in the least, especially given their resources. It has raised a lot of questions about the present leadership of this team. There are clearly grounds for criticism of this side. I don't understand why we need to pretend that all is honky dory with this side.

It's ironic that you bring up Inter, who have done very well since Marotta took charge.

You’re right, but if he hasn’t found a club by September he only has himself to blame. Time to get over his mommy issues.

Alex Sandro’s contract extension was signed in 2018, in the contract there was a clause to extend it for an additional year if certain conditions were met, they were over the 5 year extension so it triggered the one extended year.

As for Tek, he’s still a reliable goalie. I understand they want to lower the salary structure, but there was no need to get a new goalie this season.

Neither of their extension can be placed on current management. Their extensions also came pre-covid where Juve was doing well money wise. Covid changed everything for A LOT of teams.

Our highest paid player will play attack, with Milik as his backup. Despite his goals, the rest of the midfield lacked goal production where we previously had it in prior years.

Nobody is pretending it honky dory, but to say Juve is one of the worst ran teams in Italy is pretty hyperbolic.

So well that the club was in financial ruin, hadn’t paid players and now a hedge fund took over the club. We all know what happens to companies where hedge funds take over, they want their money back.

Other than Frattesi, who they were obligated to purchase his contract, they’ve spent little on players because they have none. Instead they’ve signed 30 and 31 year old guys for free because they can’t buy without selling. Then they spend €8 million on a 35 year old striker.
