It wouldn’t shock me if the dark master Marrotta told Chiesa to sit tight for the year. This is exactly what he did with Zielinski last summer.
I understand all that. What I don't understand is why paying a sum like 30M for another player wouldn't come into play; however the other poster addressed that.
As a backup for leao and pulisic I'm all for it. Chiesa one of a handful of skillful Italian forwards.
When they write of the players salary are they referring to what he has remaining in this final season? Or what it takes to get him for this final season AND an extension? Because I'd think any team that wants to get him now will be contingent on signing an extension.

Zielinski made Napoli believe he was open to signing a new contract (he wasn’t). This is why he was allowed to start the season. ADL has been very good in the past in these situations (Fabbian Ruiz, Milik) so people were surprised that he allowed it. They had rounds of talks in the fall that went nowhere and then it was announced that he signed a pre contract with Inter. We played him in the second half of the year because we needed him. In short, we got completely played. It was revealed that Zielinski and Marrotta had been in contact since last August. I’m just speculating here with Chiesa btw. Not saying that this is what’s happening but the stories are a little similar. Giuntoli lowering the price to 15 has me thinking that he knows what’s up and he wants to get wtv he can
If’s not like American sports, when a player transfers their contract is renegotiated. It’s a new contract with a new team.

Barbieri is just a right back. Doesn’t slot into the middle or left like Danilo would. Cabral was bought for the left side, Cambiaso will be on the right.

The Chiesa situation. Say he is asking too much on his deal elsewhere, can't we just loan him out and the contract runs out this way? EDIT: a prospective club pays this last year Salary and say 8M. This way Juve recoup money.
