    Galeno? Chiesa clear.

Gotta give credit to Thiago Motta, honestly. For a Manager that has not won a trophy, save 4 Manager of the Month Awards, my guy manages to get the Juve job and have carte blanche on who to bring in.

How are we going to pay for Galeno, when we are also interested in Todibo and Koopmeiners. That is like 120 mil. And we still need another winger and maybe a rright back. And if Milik leaves, we also need a backup to Vlahovic.

Someone explain the logic of going out and dumping a transfer fee on someone like Galeno when you have Chiesa in house and all you need do is pay a higher salary.

I get many here aren't as high on Chiesa as I am. I also understand the injury history. That said, it makes no sense to me to spend a substantial sum on a mediocre winger when you have one in house who, at his best, is a world class player.

The logic is purely financial I suppose. Financial bookkeeping is not that simple, so for example selling player for 30 mil and buying player for 30 mil. for the same position in sporting terms is ridiculous, but in financial terms is great business and it is keeping the club in better economic situation. It is what is is.

Still I think, if Chiesa would have lowered his salary demands, he would be rock solid in our starting 11.

Chiesa earns almost €6 million a season, that's net. He reportedly wants a few million more a season, also net. Given his injuries and his less than stellar performance as a whole the past couple seasons, it's most likely down to financials. As of now he's the highest paid player on the team, it's no secret they're trying to lower the wage bill.

I think Vlahovic is the highest paid in the league.

Yeah, that's right. His salary jumped on July 1st around €9.5 million net. It was less last season.

He was still the highest paid last season by a few thousand per week over Osimhen.

On the team, last season, Chiesa was tied with Bremer at 4th/5th.

Tek and Sandro were ahead of him.

Bremer's contract extension gave him a pay raise, his new salary is now €7 million a season net. He's the highest paid defender in Serie A.

    So Chiesa was not tops.

They surely do need to lower it but IMVHO, it was the likes of Tek and Alex Sandro that skewed the market.
