    Sure, that makes sense.
I mean, come on, how many of the millions (and millions) of Bournemouth fans in the US would want to see lowly Arsenal?

So that 39th game idea might not be the slam dunk some think it is? Or will people show up if it "matters"?

Well, it would be if Bournemouth are playing! Clearly, they are a draw. ;)

Wrexham is coming to Vancouver on Saturday. A crowd of 30k is expected for the match. Real grass is getting put in BC Place for the first time for this match...

Nope, it is only for this match. Next time there will be grass will be for the World Cup. The grass system used for the World Cup might be used going forward though, so hopefully that works out.

Does that mean no more closing the roof if they go that route?

Unknown. What is known is that they grass will be live and put in late 2025 / early 2026 and will be growing through to the World Cup in the summer. During that time, the stadium will still be having other events. The grass will be kept after the World Cup and it is up to the stadium operators (PavCo, a BC Government Crown Corporation) to see if they'll keep it or not.

Apparently grass is dangerous for the Whitecaps. They are hollow men without The Secret of Turf.

34,783 in Vancouver watched a 4:1 loss to a league 1 side. Not great optics. Having said that, wrexham had a brilliant preseason tying 2 pl teams. I'm guessing they're off to the championship next season where they'll probably find winning more difficult.

Wrexham is having a hey of a preseason, but one team that's having an even better preseason is Celtic.
Celtic 4 - Chelsea 1 at Notre Dame.
Can't find the attendance but looked like about 30k. No idea what they were thinking putting this matchup in the huge stadium. I mean, I see the appeal of putting a team called Celtic into the home of the Irish, but they had to play real Madrid, or someone of that stature to fill the place.

Did Manchester City vs Ac Milan at Yankee Stadium use a different configuration from NYCFC? The field looked 15 yards wide lol

Well Anyway AC Milan 3 - Manchester City 2 46,122 in attendance, deemed a sellout.

Columbus Crew 4 - Aston Villa 1 as the EPL is having a pretty terrible preseason. 20,218 in attendance.

    Louisville City 0 - Eintracht Frankfurt 4, 10,218 attendance.
Manchester City 2 (actually 3, referee didn't spot Haaland's obvious goal) - Barcelona 2 and Barca won 4-1 on penalties. Very impressive 63,237 in attendance despite weather delay at kickoff.

Can City vs Chelsea reach 100k+ in Columbus??

Current cheapest seat for El Classico in New York is $270. The craze has died down since the first El Classico in Miami was above Super Bowl prices, but this is still crazy.

Chelsea vs City at Ohio Stadium - not so crazy. $72 gets you in.

We have reached the day of 1,000 friendlies. (well a little fewer, but still)

Manchester United vs Real Betis – July 31, 7 PM – San Diego, CA
Arsenal vs Liverpool – July 31, 7 PM – Philadelphia, PA:
Chelsea vs Club America – July 31, 7 PM – Atlanta, GA:
Crystal Palace vs Wolves – July 31, 8 PM – Annapolis, MD:
Real Madrid vs AC Milan – July 31, time TBD – Chicago, IL:
Aston Villa vs RB Leipzig – July 31, 8 PM – Harrison, NJ:

If all of these sell well, perhaps we could say we could host a whole round from a top league. Palace vs Wolves in Annapolis could be quite a site, if people show up.

Why so many people in the USA love the PL THIS much, I will never understand. Meanwhile El Classico isn't even going to be on TV on Saturday. WTF?

It's not so much the PL that they love, it's the handful of massive glamour clubs that they love. It's the same reasons that there are so many New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, LA Lakers, and Raiders fans in the US and the world.
