I think I was at that game! It was Brian McBride's Birthday and he addressed a small crowd after the game. It got a little preachy, and there was a guy in my section handing people a dollar to shush them just saying "happy birthday Brian" each time he did.

This game? I was definitely there, too.

It was the same game that Ekelund scored that free kick volley where Mulrooney popped in the air and Ekelund crushed the volley into the net. Cunningham also scored once or twice for Columbus IIRC. Great game to attend for a 1st game!

Bring something along for the museum and you can drop by (but no cleaning anything). :)

Keri was a three year starter I believe and was a great player.

He stayed around in the area but he never got involved with the alumni other than playing pickup games at the Rose Garden.

He headed Milan Mandaric’s SanMina corporation for at least 30 years but I’m sure he retired by now.

It would be a disgrace if Mitic and Zungul are not recognized.

I'm pretty sure the Quakes had a fan fest the next day, when I first met Jimmy Conrad. Gave throwaway line, how-ya-doing, and he replied with a fulsome explanation how he was doing great since they won the night before. :)

I always thought that was a pure volley but on rewatch not sure if the he hits the ball after it hits the ground or just as it hits it, or before.

Wait, does this mean we're passing up Innocent!!??

Still a chance for Scott Sealy though.

    Disappointed they didn't include Hucks.

Here are my remaining 16 picks, with 14 slots left, so at least two of them won't make the cut.

    Eddie Lewis
    Ilija Mitić
    Johnny Moore
    Justin Morrow
    Brian Mullan
    Richard Mulrooney
    Pat Onstad
    Eddie Robinson
    Shea Salinas
    Tony Simões
    Jordan Stewart
    Craig Waibel
    Chris Wondolowski
    Eric Wynalda
    Jackson Yueill
    Steve Zungul

I think probably Yueill doesn't get it. Who else? Maybe Stewart or Mullan. Probably there will be one or two more that I didn't choose, so cut some more.

Good picks. Stewart is most likely, maybe Morrow?

I wouldn't be upset if Stewart and Yueill weren't picked. Could they pair someone else together?

I think you have to put Jackson Yueill in there. He's been a starter for most of 8 season, the last 3 or so as captain. People love to dump on him, but he's a good player. Not great, but good, and his current form is not the best form he's shown as a Quake, but that better form should count like it should for any player.

Cade over Huckerby is still hard for me to wrap my head around. And I’m a big fan of Cade.
