yeah, it's still too early for us government types in this area. Maybe another 30 or 70 years....

    (I know, different spelling. Still....)

There is a large office building in my neighborhood in Fairfax. On the grounds someone placed a memorial stone dedicated to the children murdered in the Oklahoma bombing. Strangely, the stone is tucked way, behind the multi-level parking deck/garage and a copse of trees on the property line, facing south-east, rather than in a public area and facing west towards Oklahoma. I find it quite poignant every time I walk my dogs through there.

I hope we aren’t planning on starting him. He’s not even able to start for Miami. Their centerbacks are the weakest part of the team.

MLB.tv does a single team package, but you only save $20 over the full package.

There's zero chance MLS Season Pass would offer such a deep discount for a single team ($35 vs. $100) if they went that route.

Birnbaum plays center and likely going to be starting. Could be a decent depth signing.

Yes, I know he's starting. If we do play 4 in the back we will need someone next to him. If we go 3 in the back, perhaps we do something else with the players on hand.

3 backs with 2 DMs? I *think* that could make sense, given our roster and signings?

I love a 5 back. if you have flank speed it can easily morph into a 3-5-2 from a 5-3-1-1

Irrelevant, since they don’t offer a single team package in any case. I merely offered what I would be willing to spend, not what I think MLS/Apple should do. They don’t want my money that badly.

To run a five-back set you need more than Steve Birnbaum plus 19 total games of MLS experience among 3 players. Thus the interest in McVey, who has about twice that plus professional experience in Sweden.

We’re still desperately thin at centerback, but this move helps.

With Herrera and Jeahze on the flanks, I think a four-back set is more likely.

    Herrera-Birnbaum-McVey-Jeahze
    Peltola-Canouse
    Klich
    Pirani-one of TKdP-Dajome
    Benteke

I see Klich as deeper-lying than the other attacking options. Dajome and TKdP are platooning for that second forward/attacking mid role until someone grabs it.

But that’s just my horribly uneducated wild-arse-guess.

    Pretty good guess.
    I'll offer:

4- Herrera, McVey/ Akinmboni, Birnbaum, Jehaze
    4d - Klich ,Peltola/ Canouse, Pirani/KuD, Rodriguez/ Stroud
    2- Dajome/KuD, Benteke

Sucks to go into a season feeling this way, but I'm pretty sure this team is going to be garbage again.

Perhaps we should switch from Messi League to the Totalitarian League, then we could mandate fear and bonesaws!

Yeah, I am pretty sure this CB will be the last biggish move of the off season. We will sign a few of the draftees. We have a ton of youth and overhead for a third dp mid season. We are short on OBs, but if you consider one or two listed mids, CBs and DMs as OBs or wingbacks, we have cover at every position. We'll spend the first half sorting out and sign 3 guys in July.
    It is a rebuilding year.

This is a club that gave out team pictures without the players name on it. They'd give us a bone saw without a handle.
