Supposedly it was a minor thing and they wanted to keep him from having to play 3 games in 8 days. Now we're what ... two months into this?
Your Thursday Kickoff: Will Miami break the Revs’ record points total? J. Sam Jones Thursday, Aug 29, 2024, 09:55 AM mlssoccer.com Based on current PPG, Miami is projected to finish with 73 pts, tied with 2021 Revs. Could be decided by the Revs at MIA match on Decision Day.
I've always thought that if they added a roof to this stadium it would then turn it into a proper soccer specific stadium.
Carlos Vela has returned to LAFC, surprisingly. I guess at age 35 he's helping them bring their average age down somewhat.
DeJuan Jones came on late last night in the Campeones Cup Final (last year's MLS Cup winner v LigaMX's Campeón de Campeones), but the Crew lost in PKs to Club America in Columbus. Crew got a late goal to tie. Jones made his PK (he was the fifth shooter) but they went to extra kicks, and Crew lost. Controversy in the penalties as the Mexican keeper clearly was early off the line on his last save, but VAR somehow ignored it.
Miami has dropped 6 pts by drawing 3 straight games, putting them at 65 points. Their assault on the Revs 2021 record 73-point season now requires them to win all 3 of their remaining games to reach 74 points. If the Crew beat (or tie) the Herons tonight in Columbus, it will be over, and the record is safe for another season. If Miami wins tonight, and in Toronto on Saturday, it will come down to their final game on Decision Day, at home, against (gulp) the Revs....
Yes, I know, I jinxed them. My bad. CLB had this game in the bag, but 1. A CLB defender collided with his GK, gifting Miami a goal 2. Cucho Hernandez misfired on his second PK of the night, allowing an easy save by Callendar. LA MURALLA CALLENDER🧤🧱 pic.twitter.com/H3TLfrM3JL— Inter Miami CF (@InterMiamiCF) October 3, 2024
