Trust me, McKennie in MLS isn't the optimum solution but it might not be the worst either. No matter what he does he seems to always fall back into the "prove to me you should play" category on the Euro teams. Couple that with the fact that, should his suitors be from England, he might get the "bench em deep and bench em hard" treatment once there. I mean every one knows Americans can't play...

Regular playing time, if healthy, is pretty much assured in MLS. Cincy is a good side. The GOAT plays in MLS after all... At any rate, I really think playing time at his next club should be an important criteria and, strangely, puts MLS more in the hunt than expected.

If the offer is legit, the huge salary that would set him and his family up for the rest of his life should hold strong allure. Even in the PL I doubt he gets more than £3M/yr which is no small amount of money but is still half of what FCC reportedly offered.

There was a report that McKennie is on the radar of other MLS teams as well. If that's true, then it seems obvious that he's told the league he's open to playing here. There aren't a lot of Euro teams throwing money around. He may well be able to make a lot more playing in MLS.

No doubt, but why should we care whether he makes a lot of money?

Yes, playing time is critical, but without the high competitive level and pressure to perform every day, players that come back to MLS generally decline.

I hope he is somehow, against all reason, successful. If for no other reason that it would shine the light brighter on BB. A bad GM uses their resources poorly. A bad President/owner gives their GM 0 resources.

SKC have historically given Vermes some support to spend, right now theyre hovering around the median payroll.

But yeah until that happens boy howdy does this look like a stupid hiring decision

DC just picked up Dom Badji, which kind of makes me angry. If he was available, why the heck didn't the Revs pick him up? It's not like we're so rich in strikers that we can afford to sit on our hands.

Speaking of Nottingham, it looks like Turner is now 3rd choice keeper. He needs to get out of there.

Dejuan scored a nice goal for Columbus last night, mere seconds after entering the match. Go figure….

Yeah, and it was a sweet play. The thing that got me is that it has been so long since we've seen anyone make a pass like that with the Revs - at a minimum, since Carles has been out, which now seems like forever.

And, speaking of Carles - isn't it strange  that he's been out so long, yet there was never any report of what injury he had, when he got it, how long he'd be out, etc., etc.? IIRC, the only thing reported was that it was just a minor thing ...
