of course, it is not impossible…. It is highly unlikely.
With only a slim chance of achieving a barely minimum goal, it is time to start working toward next year.

This is mostly hogwash. It’s MLS. Teams have won it all with crappy starts. Like in hockey, a hot streak at the end of the season can do wonders.

Opinions vary. 42 is a good number to use to qualify for playoffs. Only 30
    more points needed from remaining 18 matches. (8 H- 10 A)
Let’s see- 8 wins, 6 draws, 4 losses- No sweat with the current roster based
    upon performance YTD.
Offer 5-1 odds and see if you get any takers!

    I’m thinking 52 points in 14 games.

For your own safety, please check the dosage on whatever you are using.

12 now +( 3x14 or 42) would be 54. So you are thinking 13 wins and 1 loss in next 14 matches. What about the last 4 ? Go for it all - 4 more wins or 64 for the season

Currently (6/15 at 9:00 pm CDT), the Fire are just TWO points out of a playoff (play-in) spot.

Please note, the two teams ahead of the Fire do have a game in hand.

I hope the Fire play great the rest of the year, including the playoffs. I hope they are so good that I have to apologize three times for underestimating them.

I'm optimistic that Hugo, despite starting to get more service lately, was able to take it upon himself to steal the ball deep in enemy territory and move in for the kill solo and put it away.

I agree that was a very positive move.
We are thankful that Toronto's defense was so very, very poor last night.
Sadly, I cannot be Optimistic that ALL teams will have such sucky defense.

  11. Hugo hasn't stopped working. By Leagues Cup time he should have some new and improved teammates (hopefully).

  12. Good thing we had a lead at the end since our back line the last 20 minutes was:
    Dean - Pineda - Omsburg - Souquet - Arigoni

Try winning a lot of games with that.

If Fire move two underperforming DP’s and replace them before August 1 with two quality attack-minded DPs who fit, this team could make noise.

Relax! Everybody knows who I meant. Today too many people have no sense of humor. Laugh and live longer

It’s not funny when the quip is ‘aimed’ at someone…but with plausible deniability;)

Have you noticed the amount of times ‘some posters’ use words like ‘some posters’, and repeat middle school snark?

    Just gets old…

I think I have said “some posters”. Are you talking about me? Sorry, I guess…
General comment- not directed at anybody in particular. For me, getting mad and calling names takes the fun out of it so I try not to do that.

    No, it’s not you.

None of the 5 (4) goals scored in this Orlando/Fire game were better than Shaqiri’s in the Euros?

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Players performing better when they get away from the Fire is an interesting attempt at optimism. I appreciate the effort though.
