Haha, the NOS had already counted this as a certain silver but it is bronze. Lol. Though they did say gold is unlikely against a specialist. Mentally weak, now crying on camera. Crying with the parents. The American was an ice cold killer (straight from the ghetto?), Orange was tense and stressed before the gunsound. Weak psychology. Those medal predictions don't work well right? Some are way better as expected, others a flop. Wouldn't surprise me if both the men and women marathon deliver a (positive) surprising result. The 10k as well.
The mickey mouse voice choked big time. Surprised? Again, those medal predictions are way off for this edition.
Duh, it was already said this was the specialist, but almost everyone was already counting the silver medal. That's what I meant above (see the posts above you). Crying and nerves before the race starts, then crying on camera and parents is also 'choking' I'd think. Running so many distances/heats is also a risk, they say. Running without hurdles requires a different technique as well.
She is just not a specialist but is also likely the fastest 400M in the world. She will run the anchor leg in the 4x400M relay for the US.
This are apparently the fastest recent times: https://worldathletics.org/records/...untry=all&eventId=10229511&ageCategory=senior Okay, fair enough. The USA is gigantic, has a whole college system, and pays for this whole IOC show. US lawmakers are continuously threatening to withdraw (WADA) funds if the Chinese aren't tested on drugs properly, and so on. The Olympics cannot really exist without the USA or NBC (not in the current form/size/importance/significance at least).
You can put this through translate https://nos.nl/artikel/2532481-droo...achtmerrie-in-race-om-goud-verliest-ze-zilver As you hint at, it was a world record. This is also not the first cry incident involving Oranje athletes. Crying before the event starts.
German TV speculated Bol has Covid too (red head etc). And they find it suspicious that McLaughlin very rarely choses to race. Dives back into her bunker again. This was only the third time in her career that she ran against Bol or other elite hurdlers outside USA. German TV says: doped cyclists do and did this too; limiting the appearances and also out of competition controls that way. Some athletes participate in the circuit of profitable events (Zürich for ex.), but a few of them very sporadically participate in races.
This is the Swiss (!!) coach: I won’t have time to read all the theories about tonight’s outcome. It’s also not really important because it was win or lose. But here is what I know: Femke tried everything to run faster than ever to stand a chance to win gold.Just the pace was too fast for her profile 24.04…— Laurent Meuwly (@LaurentMeuwly) August 9, 2024 In the studio here they said before the race 'running fast you do with your arms'...
So, the epic show down was a let down. Dunno what happened, but after about 250 meters I was thinking "what's Femke doing?", because her stride seemed not as fluid as usual. However Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone was epic. Femke would have to improve her 50.95 time by a blistering 0.62 seconds to win. Wonder if Femke took too much on her plate by running in multiple disciplines.
Disingenous even... The NOS and the whole entourage of and around Mickey Mouse was already counting the medal. I don't like that at all. Always on the verge of tears and breakdown. A few T&F athletes have been crying the last few days. Also her roommate Klaver for example. Crying after shown a yellow card and warning. For me that looks as very weak. To stand there with a tearful face before the gunshot sounds. It is all partially subsidized by taxpayer money and tax shelters. Don't forget that - read that twice, if necessary, and know what that means. They’re partially paid by the state. The best athletes can financially retire before they are 35 (she and especially Hassan are already millionaires), good for them, but that crying spectacle doesn't look good. The stress and tension. The Americans meanwhile are ice cold and do their business. Let that be an example.
Nope. You had high expectations and was hyping it up in other threads. The broadcaster already counted the silver medal and so did the entourage. I don't like such thing at all. The unexpected medals in serious sports I can appreciate much better. Starting faster than McLaughlin (who hasn't run as much) and then imploding towards the end. That can he called 'choking' yes. Tears in the eyes before a gunsound (also today, again with Oranje dressed athletes on the track). That's just really weak. Starting 0.5 second faster as your PB (halfway) and faster as the Americans. Really? Here below you can see the graph and see there was a faster start than the Americans, quicker than the world record holder. Is that smart? Towards the end the slowest speed of everyone... burned.... A flop.... https://www.nu.nl/310473/video/de-r...rd-zon-traag-einde-zie-je-nooit-bij-haar.html Again, it is partially funded by the taxpayer and tax shelters (or tax evasion). Even if the budget is only a fraction of other countries.
Sorry, dude. It wasnot a Dutch only high expectation race. It was world wide looked at as the match of the Olympics with anticipation and high expectation. Stop framing it as a failure because of Dutch unrealistic expectations, unless the whole world somehow became Dutch. I simply see your posts as being unable to cope with sports sometimes coming up with results not fulfilling the promise. How is it hyping from the whole world, when just for the Olympics the two, who are in a league of their own, both clock for the first time a race below 51 seconds just before they face each other in the Olympics.
Players claim Germany disrespected them by saying they were scared of Germany https://www.telegraaf.nl/video/781927619/hockeymannen-over-rel-in-duitse-media-zelf-om-gevraagd
Yeah, not quite. We were the better team, but China defended well. In the end the penalty shootout was too much for them. Another gold medal
There was a gulf in class. Everyone already knew this. Even here they counted the silver, but it was bronze.
Meanwhile, those jury sports are a real joke... and track cycling too. British jury handing out medals to British cyclists. Escaping DSQ for their own, giving it to others. Hugely corrupt.
