Re: the CWC DAZN is available.for 20 bucks a month to stream. HOWEVER it's only available on a 12 month contract. So if you want to watch any of.the soccer, it will run you $240. Now, because DAZN has purchased "global.rights" they have said they're willing to sell local rights to any free-to-air outfit who's willing to pony up. No word.on what they'll be asking but since absolutely no one is likely to.pay them $240 for.the package, I would guess there's a chance someone could pick up the rights cheap.
It’s a preseason tournament of friendlies. I’m not watching if it’s on OTS for free regardless. Bring back the Confederations Cup.
No way I’m shelling out a bunch of dough to watch this stinker of a tourney. Even if it were free, with the way they shafted the Crew, I wouldn’t watch out of protest. THIS! Never understood why they canned it. It’s too late for 2025, but it would have been cool since the US, the Canucks, and Mexico would be in it, being host nations. It would have been a far better WC prep for the US, compared to the Nations League SF and Final and the Gold Cup. A CC in 2029 could be tricky, since six countries will be hosting games for WC 2030. Who wants to bet that there will conveniently be a CC in 2033 prior to Saudi hosting the 2034 WC?
https://www.fifa.com/en/tournaments...cles/dazn-stream-show-live-globally-broadcast All games free. Now, whether or not "free" means "free" or "register and give us your credit card for a free trial that just happens to run the length of the tournament" is anyone's guess. And, as you said, there's a chance that rights could be sublicensed. https://worldsoccertalk.com/tv/dazn-club-world-cup-rights-deal-made-for-tv/
The Confederations Cup was axed before the Qatar WC because "fixture congestion" but probably more likely because "we don't want to have two club seasons shut down for our stupidity of having the World Cup in the Middle East."
??? Ronaldo plays for Al Nassr who didn’t make the tournament. But you know they could change the rules at any minute.
I admit mistakes around here all the time. Hell, I've been married for decades and regularly admit to mistakes that I didn't even make. But I didn't say anything about Al Ahly being in a particular country, Egypt, Swaziland or Papua New Guinea. Can you show me please where my error was?
I think it has to do with where Ronaldo plays.... Also Rule No. 1: "The wife is always right" Rule No. 2: "See rule No. 1" Rule No. 3: "Weren't you listening the first two times?"
I think this points out the actual error. Not to speak for @Ball Kicker, but we had been discussing Saudi upthread. Perhaps he assumed Saudi favoritism was implied? Which certainly tracks. Also, “Happy wife, happy life.”
I don't give two flying shits about Saudi soccer, Egyptian soccer OR Ronaldo. There. My bases are covered.
Circling back to MLS… If you’ve ever won the Cup, clap your hands Clap! Clap! Not so fast, Red Bulls!
I just realized the final was yesterday lol. Was gonna watch, oh well. I figured LA would win, Cinderella never goes all the way.
I didn’t watch I hope Nancy learned along with Tall why everyone says it’s so hard playing in multiple competitions. At least we won something unlike LAFC and others. But bottom line you need a better and deeper roster. If we keep rolling with empty roster spots and flaming out at the end of the season one would then have to wonder about competence. Nancy seems like a very bright coach. He said he wanted to expand the core group. So I’m going to put this on Tall. Hopefully the entire organization realizes too many guys played heavy minutes mainly on defense where we lack depth and that Morris was very important and we can’t expect similar results with Zawadzki or any other CM on the roster.
There are a lot of people that play a role in the roster and no one gets off the hook. I can’t put the blame in just one spot. Nancy prefers athletes with potential (projects) that are team players (less ego) and a small squad. Haslam’s want to keep the spending mid table. Tall tries to keep both sides happy, so therefore no one gets everything they want. The best we can hope for is that they’ve learned from this season.
Well the numbers Talk for spending range was better than 16th i believe we were lower then his admitted standard 14th would be top half (imjs) we sold Morris for 4M and didn’t sign a replacement which they had knowledge of this well before the summer window. So Bez gets some blame as well. I also blamed him for having us so thin at CB. Camacho filled a temporary need and then it’s like we didn’t even consider we need more than Cheberko and having Zawadzki be the back up to everything went out the window once they knew Morris was leaving. They gambled and lost. In my opinion it was a very bad risk to think not doing anything at CB & CM was going to work. The pick ups we made were great but it wasn’t enough and they should have done better. Many of us on here called this stuff out and mostly debated what was the bigger need CB or CM. Once Morris was gone I had to change my opinion from CB to CM. also no reason for us to be mid table in spending that’s nonsense. I’m not saying spend stupid amounts like the top 3-5 teams but we should be in the 6-10 range if we want to be serious. Using your youth system is great and when it pans out you can spend less but when it’s obvious we needed to do more we sat on our hands. The Nagbe contract and the way we ran him into the ground bothers me. Buy his contract down and max out at 3/3. Not only did we not buy Nagbe down we have been bad at u22 signings , not used all 3 u22 spots and that has to change.
