Google Maps says 27 minutes via the west side of the stadium to Spring to the river footpaths west of City Hall to Broad and High.
And now Boupendza is out at Cincy. Never played for them after that bar fight. MLS terminated his contract for failing to meet obligations, whatever that means. I did read the other day he was skipping training sessions, so maybe’s they got him for that. The semi-retirement Saudi Pro League already got rid of him, now ditto with MLS. Probably going back to the Middle East or Russia or China now. Good riddance, dude was a douche based on accounts from… everyone.
Clark is one of those guys who is forever getting "a fresh start". At 21, he's now had, what, five? Six? Lots of hype as a teen, but keeps getting loaned out to second (or third) rate Euros who find him wanting and ship him someplace else. Another guy who would have been better off to just settle in with an MLS side for four years and learn his trade. Still, Minny was using him as a wing back, which he isn't. He should do better as an attacking mid. And if the syrup suckers get tired of Choniere.....
RSL sold Andres Gomez. I already had them rated at the bottom of the "big 6" contenders. This probably drops them into the next tier.
Crazy. I watched Miami v RSL at the start of the season and I thought he was crap. Constantly running down blind alleys. Interesting…
This is a huge loss for RSL they will still be good but definitely trending down while other teams trend up in the West. The window is closing soon so they better have someone in mind to add if they want to stay contenders. The could come out of the west playoffs but it’s not likely and their Shield hopes are over.
BREAKING: Charlotte FC's proposed deal to sign Dutch int'l Calvin Stengs from Feyenoord is in doubt, per sources. Not totally collapsed yet, but big problems right now.Talks ongoing with Newcastle over a potential Miguel Almiron deal. pic.twitter.com/3MOR56joFg— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) August 13, 2024
Almiron to Charlotte off. They agreed on the fee and then Almiron asked for more money. A typical move these days, see Tanner Tessman. Per Athletic.
I know he played on turf in Atlanta, but that plastic in Charlotte can't help them in situations like this. By all reports, it's one of the worst playing surfaces in MLS.
$25m for Cucho is ridiculous. My guess is we could sell him for ~$15-18m at most, which is probably pretty close to what Norwich could sell Sargent for right now. Norwich put a $20m price tag on Sargent, but haven't got a bid at that level yet. So they are probably at a pretty equal market value right now. Transfermarkt seems to agree with that, valuing Cucho at $13m and Sargent at $14m.
