Orlando wins late at San Jose they are our next opponent. They are having a disastrous season and have been poor at home (1W-3D-3L)
Crew definitely need another 3 points to catch up. As long as we at least get a draw it will be a good stretch with a few more road games left on this unprecedented away tour.
Orlando hasn’t won at home since March 23rd over Austin who has been bad on the road. However they have been playing better if you look at their results this month. They are a better club than Montréal or Chicago.

What is the shortest tenure for an MLS head coach? I can't imagine he makes it through the year.

I would not have my credentials long enough to be a good reporter. When Porter asked if there was anyone I would like to see in the starting lineup, my response would have been --

"Matan. We see how successful he has been under a coach who is respected. Unfortunately, we're saddled with you and the fans need some change."

He’s frustrated and it’s understandable because they haven’t got the results. Only thing is, that was a good team last year. It’s on him this year. Tough situation for all involved I’m sure.

No surprise at all. When things go south, Caleb turns snarley and his narcissism starts to show.

Five will get you 50 that he's lost the locker room already. Stick a fork in him.

Porter’s next job will be in USL. MLS has passed him by. It didn’t need to happen, of course. Despite his two MLS Cups, he’s just incapable of additional growth. It’s shocking and sad, honesty. I don’t think Caleb is dumb, by any means, but he sure as hell is stubborn. I hope at some point the ego and hubris fall away and he can admit to himself that he still has a helluva lot to learn about this game.

That'd be a GREAT question for @Sirk if anyone could track him down.

Not sure how accurate but I found this :

Of the original MLS coaches the shortest tenured was Eddie Firmani, who made it just 144 days from his hiring in January to his firing in May. The longest tenured was Dave Dir of FC Dallas (then the Dallas Burn) at 1,826 days. Dir was not relieved of his duties until after the 2000 season.

The shortest tenure of any (permanent) head coach in MLS history belongs to Wilmer Cabrera, who was relieve of his duties at Montreal after just 64 days.

The Metros went through a laundry list of head coaches in those first few years. Those 144 days were a harbinger.

They were on their seventh when we were on our third.

This weekend was the first time I really tuned into MLS 360 since we had the later start time and my wife and toddler where out of town. I enjoyed getting the highlights, goals etc but I really struggled with the personalities on the show. I have never seen NFL Redzone so maybe this style of show is designed to be like this but for me it was a deterrent to the overall value of the program.

Redzone is just one guy (used to be at least).

I agree, Kljestan, BWP, and Kaylyn Kyle all suck.

    Couldn't agree more.

RedZone has, as noted, one guy - Scott Hanson - and he doesn't say much. It's very focused on game action. There's no sit-down banter or bloviating. Which is why it works:

After last year they announced that MLS360 was going to move away from all the talk and be more like RedZone. If they did, it's only incrementally. It's still primarily "entertainment" from three clowns

We had a bunch of 7:30 kickoff's this weekend. Just serve me up game actions, etc. I realize the NFL has more "highlights" that are easier to cut to and from but still plenty of content they could use.

It feels like they mixed RedZone and a poorly produced talk show and forced them into one thing.

My initial reaction upon hearing this, and seeing how poorly Porters season is going:

We might still be underrating how good Darlington Nagbe is, and has been.

I've been saying for a long time that he's got the perfect personality to be a TV pundit.

So to bring this full circle: Porter would be a great fit on MLS360. A dickhead among douchebags.

A blowhard who won because he had great players and lives off that for the rest of his ‘career’. Yeah, I could see that.

To be honest though, soccer is a lot different than football. In the NFL, with multiple games going on at once, someone is always scoring, challenging a play, throwing an interception or getting blasted. As great as it is to keep an eye on six different MLS matches at once, there is a lot more time to fill as far as discussion goes.

I enjoy tuning into MLS360 whenever I have a chance. Its pretty great getting a glimpse at all the goals as they happen. Just turn the volume mostly down and Bobs your uncle.
