This run in March and early April had them looking pretty pedestrian. 0-2-3.
I think everyone will acknowledge Miami has the best attack in MLS. What was brought into question is their defense, and their age. Can they all stay on the field long enough to claim some hardware? When they are clicking they are a beast.

Right, but they were decimated by injuries (mostly to young guys, not the old farts) and are still dealing with injuries to numerous starting-caliber players.

For example, for the RBNY game they were missing Messi, Redondo, Farias, Cremaschi, Gomez, Freire, and Ruiz. That's similar to if we were missing Cucho, Rossi, Yeboah, Zawadzki, Morris, Amundsen, and Jones. In the second leg against Monterrey, even though they had all the old farts available, they had so many injuries that there was nobody on the bench good enough or healthy enough for Tata to sub in.

Also, for that Colorado game they heavily rotated their squad. They only started three regular starters aside from Callendar, and those guys didn't play a ton of minutes.

So yea, they looked rough during a stretch with a ton of injuries to key starters when they also had to play on short rest and rotate their lineup numerous times due to CCC play.

Our game against them in June should be very interesting though. Assuming no additional injuries occur until then, we'll be pretty much at full strength and they'll be pretty close to full strength so it should be a good game. I think we have the edge due to coaching and our full commitment with how we want to play.

Ohhhh you are right. That sucks. I really want to see both teams at full strength because I think it would be a wild game.

If MLS doesn't like being thought of as a retirement league then they
should stop signing guys like Giroud who are going to turn 38 this summer.

While I agree in theory, it depends on how Giroud treats his time in LA.

If he is serious about playing he could be pretty productive.

14 g 8a in Serie A this season. Think a lot of teams will take that especially if he's not on a DP contract.

Hoping the Fire get at least a draw and stop Charlotte from getting all 3 points

Philly should sign it. That raccoon is faster than Alejandro Bedoya.

There's all those animals that can be trained. We have rats that can play basketball, dogs that can catch frisbees, monkeys riding dogs...could a soccer-playing racoon be next?

Nashville fired Gary Smith today, the most singularly defensive minded coach I can remember. Lots of playoff appearances. Basic competence. Zero players developed.

    Weird timing however

Nashville SC has fired coach Gary Smith after seven seasons in charge between USL and MLS, the club announced Thursday. Smith is the only head coach the club has had since its inception. Smith led Nashville to beat Toronto FC 2-0 on Wednesday night. The following morning, he was let go.

Weird indeed. It's not every day a coach gets fired after a shutout win unless there's some sort of behind-the-scenes tension with upper management.
