With that goal Djordje Mihailovic sets a new Rapids team record for goals + assists in a season with 24
FT Colorado 2-0 Toronto Colorado clinches a playoff spot and hits 50 points a year after their worst season ever.
The Fire refused to NOT be felled. 0-2 Montreal San Jose, we coming for ya' Don't blow our momentum to the bottom and the wooden spoon by losing to St. Louis.
Puig LA 4-1 Vancouver With the chasers not winning, LA Galaxy have pretty much wrapped up 1st in the West (not a 100% guarantee, but they're getting much closer to it)
Whew! St. Louis hangs on for the win, just their 6th of the season. The team is 4-0-0 against San Jose, and their infinitessimal playoff chances are still there. I don't know where this team would be without Roman Burki...the guy's a real beast between the sticks.
Decision Day could be quite fun this year. In the East, 4-7 are separated by 3 points, while 9-13 are separated by 1 point (pending Philly v DC tomorrow) In the West, 2-7/8 is really a crap shoot: #2 RSL = 51 pts #3 Colorado = 50 pts #4 LAFC = 49 pts (game in hand) #5 Houston = 48 pts #6 Seattle = 47 pts #7 Vancouver = 46 pts (game in hand; 4 home games out of 5) #8 Portland = 44 pts
Didn't help us! We won't spoon this season! We were in St. Louis for Christmas (my nephew lives there) for the first time in decades. He lives in Soulard. It was awesome!
If Colorado wins at Minnesota (their game in hand) and then beats the Galaxy at home in LA's next game it could get interesting for the Galaxy. Short of that its pretty much over. LA's other two remaining games are Austin and Houston, so taking care of business in Commerce City should just about wrap it up.
