Based on Schmetzer's subs, I'd say Seattle has basically thrown in the towel on this one (Schmetz wouldn't say that, but I would).
RSL just debuted last season's young player of the year from the Polish league, too. So maybe there's a new league for MLS to look to.
Late to the party (as usual). Texas is wider than California is long, but if you put both states together, they'd fit inside Alaska! Not knowing a lot about where interior Texas towns are specifically located, I'd guess the geographic center of the Lone Star State is...San Angelo? I'm the geography nerd on my trivia team. Here's a question...How many states have their highest elevation at less than 1,000 feet above sea level?
The usual answer for the geographic center of Texas is a town called Brady. It is about 70 miles southeast of San Angelo so a pretty good guess. I'd say 4 or 5 states are below 1,000 feet. I know Florida, Delaware, and Lousiana are below that. Maybe Rhode Island. Can't be too many more.
What @newtex said (Florida, Louisiana, Delaware, Rhode Island), plus Mississippi and DC. I think that is all.
Very good! Here are the 'lowest' highest elevation states under 1000 feet above sea level. FLORIDA: Britton Hill, 345 ft. DELAWARE: Ebright Azimuth, 448 ft. LOUISIANA: Driskill Mountain, 535 ft. MISSISSIPPI: Woodall Mountain, 806 ft. RHODE ISLAND: Jerimoth Hill, 812 ft. Seven states have their highest elevations between 1000 and 2000 feet, and all are in the Midwest. Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. .
NYCFC was upset that Unkel kind of picked Fernandez off on the 3rd goal scored by Columbus. IMO there was hardly any contact at all that had any bearing on the play. Anyway, Fernandez got the red because he came in contact with Unkel after the play.
I wonder which state has the highest lowest elevation. It’s got to be one of the mountain states, right? Alaska has the biggest difference between their lowest and highest elevation I assume.
Hartel had the chance to make that run about 10 seconds earlier when the ball was played from the wing. He didn't fail this time.
Pleased to see St. Louis doing well today, but the team has dropped so many points from winning positions, I will be on pins and needles* until the final whistle, Riqui Puig or not. *--OK, not on pins and needles. The team's going nowhere this year.
