I watched a HS JV game today that was a draw. Then they played a sudden-death OT 5min each way. On the kickoff the home team popped it up and it bounced past the one defender trying to head it. Striker runs on and slots it home. Outside the keeper’s vain attempt and the one defender, not one other away player moved. They stood there for about three minutes in disbelief before handshakes.
2-2 final at Gillette. Draw is better for NE than STL (who have a league-high 13 of 'em this season). Aljaz Ivicic made some nice stops to keep the Revolution in contention.
Technically, Seattle did comb Columbus but given the circumstances it seems a bit harsh to make a big deal of it.
yeah the broadcast team was annoying in overplaying the importance of the match.. theyre all important but no this wont be a “bad stain” on schmetzer if seattle dont win and no it wouldnt have been the “ultimate feat” by Nancy if the Crew won
Another great week of MLS comes to an end with another ********ing boring scoreless tie. ******** Canada.
The red card on Romero raises a question in my mind, given he was called up from MLS Next Pro. Does Columbus have to call him up again for it to count as the red card suspension? In other words, do they have to use one of the 4 call-ups by physically calling him up and having him be suspended? I ask because I think Columbus has to play through another international window and might need Romero again. But if they haven't called him up again, wouldn't he then be suspended for the game? I have no idea how this call-up rule works when red cards are involved.
