2024 MLS Match Day 30 Referee Discussion

    I was at the game with a friend and neither one of us was aware of it until we got home and looked at the game stats.

    I'd heard a rumor at one point that he was done, but despite the lack of assignments, he's been hired onto the PRO2 roster so clearly that wasn't accurate. Don't really know the details there. Maybe he's injured. Wouldn't know.

    It happened seconds after the goal was scored. Stadium lights were doing their thing. Chances are you were all too busy celebrating the goal, as one would expect considering the circumstances.

    90th minute, CHI v DC. Klich refuses to take a corner kick because there's a Chicago player within 10 yards, ref gives Klich a yellow for time wasting. Then the Chicago player goes about 4 yards closer and Klich does take the corner (short), and the immediate pressure turns into a goal kick. Not sure that played out the way it should.

    I'm pretty sure there was no stadium announcement.

    That tracks. Commentators might have heard it and picked up on what happened if there was.
