The FS1 broadcast said it was their 15th 1-0 win this season. They definitely should have had more tonight. Based on how their season ended last year, maybe scoring that "kill the game off goal" just isn't their thing.
If you really want to enjoy the doubleheader of irrational head referees, flip over to the Ted Unkel Show in Seattle
Now gives a penalty in stoppage time for a questionable handball on Houston. Wait, overturned after VAR. I think he got it right after the video review.
Much as I don't like Urkel, that was a pretty tough call in real time. And he did get it right. On the PK's, a traffic cone would have done better than Clark. Frei wasn't much better.
First point, agreed Second point, yes Clark was awful on the PK's. And I was cheering for him (and Houston).
MLS Should do this. Top 7 teams from each conference. Have the games on Wednesdays & Sundays for 4 weeks.
The Galaxy advance in two. 4-1 in game 2, which looks worse for Colorado because two goals happened in stoppage time when there's nothing to save it for. But L.A. looked pretty convincing in this series. I was viewing them as a good team, but not necessarily a great team capable of handling the elites in the league and making a run. They looked pretty damn good here.
Game 3 schedule: Friday 11/8: 9pm RSL v Minnesota 11pm LAFC v Vancouver Saturday 11/9: 4pm FCC v NYCFC 6pm Orlando v Charlotte 8pm Miami v Atlanta 10pm LAG v Colorado (no longer necessary.) Sunday 11/10: 5pm Columbus v NYRB 7pm Seattle v Houston What's better? 1) Assign start dates/times in advance 2) Make them all TBD, be working on that stuff in advance and announce times 1-2 hours after game 2 ends, if not immediately at the conclusion during postgame stuff. What would this do for attendance if a game was Saturday instead of Friday or Sunday? There could be zero games on Saturday now, but games on Friday and Sunday. Unless some of those Friday/Sunday slots are for FS1, but they're not listed as FS1 on the MLS website. There's definitely something good to be said about letting fans know two weeks in advance instead of one.
Oh. My. God. I just saw that on the highlights and... I don't even know what to say. OMG 🤯THAT JUST HAPPENED 😱@LAGalaxy take an early lead on a deflection. // Audi #MLSCupPlayoffs pic.twitter.com/JFxa41pZr5— Major League Soccer (@MLS) November 2, 2024
As far as watching NYCFC home matches on TV, much prefer Citi Field over Yankee Stadium. The camera angle and the field (even with sod placed over dirt areas) is a lot better than watching a match broadcast from Yankee Stadium.
Mexico Legend Hector Herrara sees red for spitting on the ref. Speaking of midfield depth, Artur has been houston's best and least crazy player this year. He's only 28
Well. The Whitecaps have a two goal lead after 14 minutes against LAFC. The second one courtesy of Owen Goal.
