Plenty of midweek games in Harrison and Foxborough to come unfortunately. Can't wait for those two teams to relocate.

I went to the Revs game last night and there's no way there were almost 6,000. Of course, it was in the 20s with strong winds, but I would say there was maybe 1,000 actually in the stands. But it looked like less on TV.
For those who are attendance figure geeks, it seems the 2024 season is off to a good start for numbers, but finding the accurate figures is going to be difficult to come by, if the first 2 weeks are any indication. Only a few attendance numbers were listed on the match summary pages at MLSsoccer.com. Others have to be gleaned from each team's Wikipedia page or newspaper accounts or other sources. For the first week, the Philadelphia number was initially reported as 18,510. According to Wikipedia, the Union had 18,742 in attendance for the team's home-opening draw with Chicago. Of the 13 Saturday games for Week 2, Colorado and San Jose are missing figures. The San Jose Mercury reported a sellout at Pay Pal Park, which has a capacity of 18,000, but no definite number stated. As for St. Louis, the account from its match with NYCFC listed the attendance as 22,243. I think that was just a typo. Every game at CITY Park last year was sold out, with the attendance listed each time as 22,423, so, it's probably safe to go with that number. This would also cast doubt on the 22,500 figure St. Louis gave as its season-opening home game with RSL last week. Here are the paid attendance figures I could find from Saturday's contests. Atlanta was the MLS team on a bye week. Minnesota (vs. Columbus) 19,906 Real Salt Lake (vs. LAFC) 19,509 (looked less than that on televsion ) Miami (vs. Orlando) 21,252 Vancouver (vs. Charlotte) 29,624 Chicago (vs. Cincinnati) 26,582 St. Louis (vs. New York City) 22,423 Kansas City (vs. Philadelphia) 19,942 Houston (vs. New York Red Bulls) 16,516 Dallas (vs. Montreal) 19,096 Colorado (vs. Nashville) Unknown San Jose (vs. Los Angeles Galaxy) 18,000 Seattle (vs. Austin) 30,067 Portland (vs. DC United) 20,221 Coming up today: Toronto FC at New England Revolution
Pretty much every MLS 1.0 team has good/decent attendance now. "Move ____" is now "move nobody". EDIT: ehhh I got too excited. Red Bulls and Houston still seem to be lagging behind the rest of the league.
What are the economic conditions of the Sounders' stadium situation? Do they pay rent? Do they keep parking/concessions? If their average attendance dips below 30k does it start making sense to build a 25k stadium and lock down their fanbase at that number probably for good?
Not counting Colorado, the total attendance for March 2-3: 292,431 Average for 13 matches: 22,495 Seattle, Vancouver, New England, and Chicago all over 25k.
Opening day record for their MLS existence. They will have 3 more all-stadium games this year for games against Austin (50th anniversary game), Miami and LAFC.
That would not make sense at all. Seattle's attendance is fine. Excluding the pandemic, never in Seattle's MLS existence has the average been below 30k. Yesterday would have had very few walk-ups given the crappy weather (it was snowing/sleeting at my place yesterday morning and personally I'm not partial to sitting in 36F weather in the rain/sleet for several hours). Attendance will likely see a big boost in 2026 when the World Cup happens, given Seattle will host 6 games. Yeah, but then the Seahawks/Sounders split happened, the pandemic hit and the Kraken started playing.
Season avg: 23,802 They aren’t publishing game attendance any more in the “box” score anymore, so this thread is the only place I know to get attendance figures, so thanks to all those who compile them here.
Recap | Revs draw crowd of 29,293 to home opener, but suffer 1-0 loss to Toronto FC revolutionsoccer.net Sunday, Mar 3, 2024, 07:03 PM Revs typically draw poorly in March, but it goes up as the season goes along. For example, last year, 2 home games in March drew 13,176 (Mar 4) and 14,930 (Mar 18), which combined is still less than yesterday's attendance. That 2002 match (previous record), was played in May (Revs started season on road trip while the new stadium was completed).
Colorado Rapids home opener total has been found. 14,954 That puts the March 2-3 TOTAL ATTENDANCE: 307,385 AVERAGE: 21,956
That's where you'll find them, IF they are posted. Colorado vs. Nashville isn't showing up there. I just Googled 'Colorado Rapids attendance 3-2-2024' and scrolled around until I found something. Today was the first time I noticed a figure there. It was not listed Saturday night or all day Sunday, as far as I could tell.
