I’m with you. But that credit will take a big hit if we don’t get past Houston in the CCC. I’m willing to be patient regarding the regular season, but not the big external competition we skipped the first round of by winning MLS Cup.
The lack of goals from other guys is the only thing worrying me. The rest of the problems were going to be problems or risks of the system. In the two games so far, teams are a little bit better at stopping Plan A. Last season, teams left Matan or Morris wide open in the middle of the field; that's not the case so far this year. However, JRR and Cucho should have had 2 more goals each over the last two games. Cucho underperforms his xG.
Need to keep in find that despite the teeth gnashing some have about it, Farsi is a key part of our lineup. The off the ball running he does can’t be matched by anyone.
I am sure it has been mentioned already, but how that is not a pen on Yeboah in the 46th min? I never understand why goalkeepers, who already have a massive advantage in their box over outfield players, get to challenge like that but if committed anywhere else on the field would be a foul.
Well Taha looks to be in the squad. Going to guess Matan unavailable. Coco will eat the left side of our defense H-Town Bound 🤘 pic.twitter.com/5inQaSVVEY— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) March 4, 2024
He was injured before the season, didn't practice with the team the final couple of weeks, has been used lightly and clearly something is wrong.
Or maybe Nancy subbed him out after a half at Minnesota in order to make sure he’d be fresh midweek. Guess we’ll know tomorrow. Not that these lists are accurate, but Farsi was the only player listed on our injury report last week.
Having been burned by those lists several times when doing my Fantasy League rosters, I can confirm that the player availability reports are NOT accurate.
Or it may be that he's coming off an injury and he's working back into game shape. He was a late sub in week one and was subbed out at the half in week two in what looked like a planned move.
We have scored exactly one fewer goal in the first two games of 2024 than we did in our first two games of 2023. lets calm down at the we arent scoring goals narrative.
The early season record of CCC teams is historically very bad. We have 4 points in 2 games. Zero complaints.
Well, that's only if Yeboah got a touch on the ball first Apparently if a player doesn't get a touch on a ball, you can do whatever you want to them
We also haven't played a CCC game yet. Normally those teams are bad because of fixture congestion which is just about to start for us.
The last several supporters shield winning teams have had exactly 7 points after 3 games. Get a result tomorrow night on the road in CCC and handle business at home on Saturday against Chicago and everything will be completely on track.
Randomly watched the highlights for the home opener against DC United last year. It’s crazy that was the same team that went on to win it all. Feels like a different season. Hard to believe that Room, Degenek, and Lucas, were all starting games last year.
Nancy's post game comments (included here, https://www.columbuscrew.com/news/c...tual-nancy-crew-got-punished-in-draw-at-mnufc): Personally, I like the tone. Not calling out individuals, but making it clear that we need to do better.
