The good news is that after the Revs go 0-2 in LC, they will have 3 weeks off to integrate their 3-5 summer signings and begin preparing for 2025.

The Revs have 5 games left (two of them mid-week) before Leagues Cup, all against teams at or below the playoff line:

Anything less than 10 points and they can forget about the playoffs.

That's assuming anyone they sign would be healthy enough to integrate into their lineup.

Yeah, and even without less than stellar opponents we managed a measly 4 points.

It's tough to root against your team, but it's probably 'for the best' that we don't advance in this tournament.

1.) We want ot avoid further injuries (if that's even possible)
2.) Give our current injured players time to rest
3.) Don't give the current season ticket holders spend money on more home games watching lineups with no scoring threats.

But it would be nice to see them actually play well and get a little confidence back. What if they won their 2 group fames and then lost the next knockout game? I don't know anything about Marzipan, but generally, the big clubs are the ones who will wipe the floor with most MLS teams, but the mid- and lower-level teams not so much. Not sure when our 3rd game would be, maybe around the weekend of the 11th, but that would still give us 2 full weeks before the Montreal game.

Dunn, Dias, and Maciel all present on the roster from R2. Nacho is only notable R1 player not included. Carles , Vrioni, and Borrero all available.

29 players named, perhaps room for Langoni if Onalfo can get off his ass and do his job

Can a coach list players who are still injured? Hoping they might be Okay by game time?

We won, 1-0, I have to agree with the common thought that MAK doesn't seem to ever connect a pass with a teammate. Hopefully we can see more of the starters ready for the game against Nashville.

Nice to win. Did the Revs supporters group join the leagues cup protest and I missed it? The fort was barely there today.

Panayotou's finish was this game summed up in a nutshell - ugly but effective.

Yes, quite a few of our members chose to boycott.

Regarding a boycott, personally I think the League's Cup can be compelling. The Revs match was kind of bleh, even though they won. But later on I watched Chivas vs San Jose before 50,000+ in SF - terrific match with lots of drama. Leagues Cup matches have a higher talent level and a lot more intensity.

I'm not saying ditch the USOC, but I'd be fine sending Revs II to it or if they allowed clubs to mix rosters a combo of development and reserve players.

Too busy with other stuff to post earlier. The first half was truly dismal and looked exactly like what happens when two teams near the bottom of their respective leagues meet. At least things picked up a bit in the second half, even beyond the goal.

I hope others saw when Harkes was able to dribble out when he was surrounded by the opponents in the second half. It looked like him vs three guys, all bunched in around him. I finally saw what he can do when needed. Now, if his skill level was the base for all his teammates, or at least the desire to attempt that.

The story of this game was 2 teams that couldn't put the ball on frame (Mazatlan had 16 shots, only 2 on goal).

I was lamenting the downfall of Bobby Wood (he's given a valiant effort, but his age/body have betrayed him), and then Panayotou scores a quintessential Wood-goal.

The game changed when Ema (and Panayotou) entered. I was excited to see Ema and Miller on the same side, but then Miller came out shortly after. I hope Miller is not going to be injury-prone, because he's got the potential to be special.

I think the Revs would only not advance if Mazatlan beats Nashville and Nashville beats us (which is certainly but seems unlikely given both are doing poorly in league play). And we will know the result of their game prior to playing Nashville. If we are guaranteed to advance will be interesting to see if CP changes things up or sticks with his same old/same old lineup

If the Revs win the group, they would play whomever finishes second in the NYCFC, Queretaro and Cincy group. If the Revs finish second, they would play the winner of the DC, Santos Laguna and Atlanta United group. If they don't get out of the group, the Revs would be off till they play in Montreal on August 24th.

Any scenario has its upsides. All that time off would kind of stink for me but we would continue to mend and work on our game.

Let them qualify for the next round, play a knockout game, and if they lose, no biggie, "concentrate on wining MLS Cup," as they used to say. :p

Quite. Also, I have to say that although it's generally a miserable season for the Rev's, still, I thoroughly enjoyed last Saturday. Also, I'm somewhat serene in the feeling that better days are ahead and I believe that Porter will prevail.
