That second half was a grind. Not pretty but kept the clean sheet and a nice home opening 3 points.

Won’t last long but enjoy a moment with RSL at the top of the western conference.

It was subtle but he went in with both feet (going into a tackle with both feet off the ground is dangerous) and he exposed his studs slightly, making contact with the opponent's foot. I thought the red would have been harsh but I'm OK with the yellow.

Just rewatched the last 15 minutes of the first half and with the snow on the ground you can clearly see which team controlled the match. Very few snow steps showing in front of the RSL Goal. You can also see how dangerous Gomez was on the right. But you can also see very little activity down our attacking left side. For me that was better than seeing a computer graphic.

I tried watching all the replays and see both feet on the ground at the time of contact, but I'm no expert.

Before the impact he had both feet off the ground which makes it a reckless challenge. When referees see things like... both feet in the air, two footed tackles, or studs exposed they are reaching for a card. Ojeda's challenge had a little bit of all 3.

Ojeda clearly held back as he went into the challenge. With all the snow, there’s very little he could have done after he committed 2-3steps before the foul.

He came in a bit with both feet, but I think it was an effort to pull back seeing that he was late.

I don’t necessarily disagree with ‘Dolo about that game being a bit of a joke because of the elements…. But I commend the players and such for pushing through

take the 3 points and move on

This is exactly why it was a yellow and not a red
The frustration should be with ojedas first card.
That was a stupid play by him

Why was Ojeda still in the match up 3 in the snow late in the match?

Instead of a heat map, you get a snow map.

LAFC's belly-aching about the weather is kinda pathetic. They only complain because they lost. The weather was the same for both teams. Our players from Colombia took to it like ducks to water. That their players couldn't find the changes needed is not the ref's fault, league's fault, or RSL's fault... or the weather's fault.

Pablo's comments made it sound like both coaches and the referee came together and decided to play the match. If true, that makes Cherundolt's crying even more pathetic.

It may be true. I heard while in line that LAFC still hadn’t arrived. I didn’t see their bus when I got to the stadium either.

That'd be hilarious. But it seems really unlikely for an ostensibly professional team to do something like that. Maybe they really were late but for a less ridiculous reason.

But then the league covers for it with a weather delay?

I believe that LAFC was at the stadium but then after the wind and crap went back to the hotel because of the delay. The wind took down the 2009 banner at the south end of the west stand. I heard there was some concern about safety so they sent the team back. They were originally talking about starting the game as late as 4pm so it was a pleasant surprise when they came back with the 2:10 start.

The game probably turned out better playing in the snow than trying to play it in the wind. For all of the snow and challenges it was a pretty good game to watch. I watched it again and was really surprised how hard the teams played. Especially LAFC even down 3. It might have been a different result if the shot from Bouanga goes in and doesn't hit the post.

Not a game I will forget. I was there at 10am and didn't leave until after the press conference. Fun times. For real.
