Stanford is used to trips requiring air travel, due to how spread out the Pac 12 was and their often taking a cross country trip. The hard part is the number of time zone changes they will have to acclimatize to.

Understood. But this is coast to coast so as you pointed out there are time zone changes but also even longer flight times. The hardships on the athletes is about to become real.

It looks like 2 trips cross country. I would think that the Ky/IN trip is one trip. Two games total. Then the Wake/NCSU trip is the same way.

They typically do one east-coast / midwest trip a year. So, the regular season is not bad. They have 8 home games and 11 away games. Being on the quarter system, I believe fall classes start the Monday after the trip to NC State and Wake Forest. By then they will have played 8 of their away games and 3 of their home games. If they make the ACC playoffs, they may have another trip to North Carolina. Earning a final four spot also gets them another trip to North Carolina. One thing I noticed that was odd - the first round in the ACC playoffs is listed as being at Stanford. I'm not sure that is correct, but I haven't seen anything about the 2024 ACC playoffs for Women's Soccer yet.

I believe the ACC is playing the same tournament format as last year, which means a 6 team tournament with two quarterfinal games, two semis, and the finals. The quarterfinals are at those games' better seeds' campuses. The semis and finals are at Wake Med. Thus Stanford's first round game at Stanford must be a marker in case it is in a quarterfinal game, meaning it is 3 or 4 (thus hosting a quarterfinal game) in the conference but is not 1 or 2 (thus getting a bye into the semis).

Anyone know a few of UNC’s non conference games. Can’t find them on any non-ACC schedule release. Hoping Anson doesn’t go for the best SOS again

It's likely that some of this year's schedule was set a couple of years ago, some last year, and some this year.

Any thoughts on this list and the schools on it for the upcoming season?

    Just a bit of trivia:

Over the years, the average number of games per team per year is 18.66. This includes conference tournament games, but excludes NCAA Tournament games. It also is after cancellations, of which there are some each year.

For the 321 teams that have posted schedules so far this year, the average number of games per team (including all expected conference tournament games) is 18.86. This, of course, does not include any cancellations, which haven't happened yet.

So, whatever sea changes might be pending in NCAA sports, the number of D1 women's soccer games this year appears to be what one would expect based on past history.
