Nominees for the US Soccer 2024 end of the year awards have been announced. For the Female Player of the Year, Alyssa Naeher, Naomi Girma, Trinity Rodman, Sophia Smith, and Mallory Swanson have been nominated. For the Young Female Player of the Year, nominees are Trinity Armstrong, Jordyn Bugg, Kennedy Fuller, Claire Hutton and Ally Sentnor. A few USWNT games have been nominated for Game of the Year: the gold medal match when the USWNT beat Brazil 1-0, the USWNT’s 4-1 win against Germany in the Olympic group stage, and the Deaf USWNT 11-0 win against Australia in a June friendly. Voting for those will open on Dec. 4 and run through Dec. 13.

For the Best FIFA Women's Player, Horan, Swanson, Girma, Smith, and Rodman are all shortlisted. Naeher is up for the Best FIFA Women's Goalkeeper. Hayes is on the shortlist for the Best FIFA Women's Coach. Voting for the FIFA awards has already opened.

And to keep this thread/post consistent even though the Ballon d'Or has already been named, Smith (finished #4 in voting), Horan (#5), Swanson (#6), Rodman (#9), and Naeher (#17) were all nominees shortlisted for the Ballon d'Or. Hayes received the Women's Johan Cruyff Trophy (Women's Coach of the Year) although she was unable to attend the ceremony in person due to the ceremony taking place during the October FIFA window.

That's a good list for the Young Female Player of Year. Sentnor's the oldest and scored the most goals for club and country, but her club was bad. Hutton did well to almost immediately win a starter's place in what was to become a top-four team. She also did well in the U20. Fuller, like Hutton was recognized as a top prospect and didn't disappoint for club and country. Armstrong and Bugg both did well at the the U17 and U20 respectively. They all have bright futures. I suppose Yohannes should be there as well for her exploits at Ajax and even her debut with senior US team, scoring a goal. I'd give the award to Sentnor in a close race with Hutton and figure the others will have a chance next year.

One Fifa award you did not mention is the Marta award for goal of the year. Trinity Rodman is one of a handful nominated for her goal against Japan in the quarters of Olympics.

Sentor will win it for name value and being captain of the u20s, but Hutton was the hidden engine room of club and U20 team.
