Just New England's luck to close out the season going back to back Crew- Miami Giving up a whopping 10 goals is not a fun way to head into the off season. I feel sorry for their fans, who have suffered for years but Caleb, maybe not so much. He seems utterly incapable of change. Can he keep his job? One has to doubt it.
Red Bulls After watching the highlights of that game, you really can't argue with anything for Miami. If Messi wins MVP, that's entirely fair. He's the best player. If Miami are favorites in the east, that's entirely fair. If Miami beats us in the east, that's entirely fair. If they play a game where they're clicking like that, what can anyone do?
Honestly we are the only team in the east that has a chance to beat them. FCC is just not what they were and the other teams are just not on that level.
MLS knew that the Crew and Cincy would host 1st leg games. MLS knew that the 2 LA teams would each host the first game in round 1. They could have announced times and dates for those 4 games a full week ago. But they were not prepared to do so, and still don't have anything the day after the season ended.
Seriously, the fact that the Wild Card and the Miami match were the only thing announced is ridiculous.
Give them a break. It takes careful thought and analysis to figure out how to best maximize Miami's chances while still having plausible deniability and any semblance of a claim to neutrality.
Vancouver has to play their games vs Portland, which they should be hosting as the #8 seed, in Portland because BC place is booked and MLS vetoed alternate sites in Vancouver. That is a joke, my friends.
Didn't they pull something similar last year? "They knew, but waited until the last possible moment."
That is so. We said the same thing at the time. It is, absolutely. But I have zero sympathy for Vancouver. They were originally awarded a team based on an elaborate plan they submitted about a lovely waterfront soccer-specific stadium that owner Greg Kerfoot was going to pay for entirely out of his own pocket. Some cynics *cough* found it odd that none of the renderings bore much similarity to each other but no matter. So they then announced a wonderful new plan whereby they would get public money and share a crap stadium with a CFL team as primary tenant, and everyone was supposed to be sooooo excited. The only real question is whether Garber & Co. knew it all along. One certainly suspects that they did. So it all turned out to be a lie and now the Caps don't have a place to call their own. Tough titties.
That is all true & fair. I have zero sympathy for their owners & FO. The fans, though? That is a little different.
It'd be nice if the times were announced. Tickets available at Nordecke.com! https://nordecke.com/product-category/tickets/
