And this my friends is why TikTok needs to be banned. No. No "they" do not raise ticket prices based on search history.
For those of us not making the trip to Mexico. I see that Studio 35 just announced they'll be showing the game.
Based on the amount of incoming requests from businesses around Columbus to be the Nordecke Official Watch Party for this game, I think it'll be harder to find a place that isn't showing it.
Hopefully Cucho is on the mend, Hinestroza's knock is minor, and Morris' halftime departure precautionary/rest related.
The Crew decided on the get there a day before the game tactic it seems. Saw an article that Nancy and staff were debating if they should get there asap or at the last minute. Send Off event is the Thursday before the game. The Clash For The Continent ⚔️Today, the Black & Gold launched its campaign ahead of the Club’s first-ever Concacaf Champions Cup Final on Saturday, June 1 at Estadio Hidalgo in Pachuca, Mexico.https://t.co/pE3R4rtzVn— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) May 20, 2024
Well, there are definitely 2 schools of thought. Early or late. The T'Wolves beat Denver 3 of 4 at altitude, so it ain't everything.
I'm guessing there's a lot more to it than the "2 schools of thought" that we often discuss as fans. I'm sure the physiology of how to prepare, eat, train, etc, for matches at altitude is something that the team's technical staff is taking very seriously. We're talking an 8 person Performance & Medical staff and Fitness Coach Jules Gueguen. But in terms of timing, there's also only so much any team can do to prep when they're involved in regular season matches before and afterwards. In any event, Pachuca is 2,700 higher than Denver. I'm in the camp that appreciates that Pachuca won't have played since May 11. They'll be rested, and I'm sure they'll train and be fit. Still, you have to expect some rust.
Pachuca is going to go almost three weeks without a competitive game before the final. I would think that is advantage Crew?
Ok so I need 2 ppl for the hotel and bus and it’s saying out of stock ???! So they are filled up and not doing any more buses ? Ahhhhhhh
Yes. In the NHL (different sport) 10 of the last 11 Stanley Cups have been won by the team with LESS rest between series.
Yes, in the rest vs rust debate, I think time off leads to rust. Teams get in a rhythm. We will be in one, they won’t. Doesn’t guarantee a win, but it definitely helps us.
There are probably logistical concerns too. Where are you going to train, recover, and do all the cool science tests? The more time at home with more sleep is probably the right move. As for rest, we seem to struggle when rested. Last time we did well coming off a long rest was the Cincinnati home leg last year. And Cincinnati had eyes on a date with Messi and just got off the league's cup.
Eh, back in 2009 we played at Toluca (altitude: 8727 feet) and got a 2-2 draw with a relatively less talented team than them. Bob worked them hard and we were pretty fit then as we are now.
Close but no cigar. The 2-2 draw was here, thanks to a late Lenhart goal (Believe it or not, I'm walking on air....). We lost 3:2 at Toluca. 2 from Guille not enough. https://www.worldfootball.net/repor...viertelfinale-deportivo-toluca-columbus-crew/ Plus the away leg was in 2010.
Our form chart, most recent results first: WWLWDWDDDDDDLWDWWDW We gave taken 13 points from our last 6 games. 4 wins, a draw, and a loss. Over 2 points per game. We took 14 points from our first 6 games. 4 wins and 2 draws. Again, over 2 points per game. The 7 games in the middle blew. 6 points. No wins, 6 draws, and a loss. Though the Tigres draw away certainly felt like a win, and in reality, it was as we advanced. In all comps: 8 wins, 9 draws, 2 losses. 33 points from 19 matches. MLS: 13 games, 5 W, 6 D, 2 L, 21 pts, 1.62 ppg. CCC: 6 matches: 3 W, 3 D, 12 pts, 2 ppg. I think CCC better indicates our team strength. Hopefully we start bending things towards 2 ppg pace in the league.
Agreed. But there are no more midweek CCC games following an MLS one anymore. We have a full week rest befor Orlando. And after Orlando before the CCC final. And 10+ days off afterwards. There is no more need for rotation. Now, if someone is banged up a bit or their batteries need recharged, not starting vs Orlando is fine. But the only guys I see in that category are Rossi, Morris, and Nagbe. Maybe Moreira. Cucho is banged up, I guess. And Hinestroza limped off. But Morris got subbed at half. And we have a week between games. Worst case scenario for Orlando: ---------------------Schulte--------------- ---Zawadzki---Camacho---Amundsen--- Farsi--------Jones-----Morris-----Yeboah --------Matan----Ramirez-----JRR-------
