‘Vancouver, not B.C., Washington, not D.C., Clark County, not Nevada, Near Portland, Ore., not Maine.”
Cavalry drives me nuts because it's so close to Calgary. Frankly, the whole CPL sounds like an unlicensed video game. The Caribbean names are great though. Arnett Gardens is one of my favorites.
I've been trying to figure out what it is about their names that's so absurd, and this is it. It's like the old pro wrestling games/YouTube videos that had guys like Bork Laser and Crispin Wah in them.
Seattle is in Washington Washington is in the District of Columbia The Columbia runs through Washington and the Columbia separates Portland from Vancouver Vancouver is across the water from Vancouver Island Vancouver is both north and south of Seattle No one ever said Cascadian geography makes sense.
There are 38 cities in Virginia, but none of them are Virginia City which is in Nevada and Montana and neither of those is officially a city.
Bad. As expected. Montagliani really should look into changing the dates of CCC to give CPL a hand. Not like he hasn't done enough already. Maybe starting CCC in mid March to early May and continue with the other portion of CCC in early August-late September. CPL is at an even worse disadvantage than MLS due to their preseason not even starting yet. Either that or CPL will need to move up its calendar to the beginning of March at the very minimum. Don't know if that is even possible due to weather in Canada.
Moca's coach Maxi Viera is a former MLS player in the most minimal sense: he was in MLS for the 1999 season, with San Jose for the first half of the season and Colorado for the second half of the season, and made zero appearances.
Agreed. They decided that with 2 away goals already, they did not need to risk anything 3 days from their home opener, with their star player.
Assuming Cincinnati doesn't pull an Austin tonight, the round of 16 will almost certainly be: USA - MEX CRC - CFU MEX - MEX USA - CRC USA - USA USA - MEX USA - MEX USA - USA Someone remind me why we need the Leagues Cup again.
Not a "good" chance ... a GREAT chance. And it came from a braindead backpass. Nashville is sleepwalking.
And this is not the kind of thing Mukhtar's departure should affect. It's complacency after going two goals up.
Moca subs in Roberto Louima, who played for Violette AC (and started in their victory over Austin in the same stadium) last year.
Because CONCACAF needs a way to have an expanded CCC that allows them to have these matchups? You think all the other federations are just going to let themselves get cut out so that MLS and Mexican teams can bankroll this tournament? There are only two leagues in this region that make any money and CONCACAF will milk those cows as much as they can; just like the do with the Gold Cup, which is why they do it every two years instead of 4.
