Yeah, and I think when Bruce said 3-5 new players I think he was thinking 3-5 potential starters. There will likely be more turnover than that on the roster but lower level replacements beyond the 3-5. I wouldn't be surprised if we have 10 or so changes to the roster.

Cristian Espinoza, who plays in the MLS, was suggested to Beşiktaş through agents.

I would be fine with this if they use the money to buy out Gruezo
    - Sell Espinoza to Turkey
    - Buy out Gruezo if no club wants him
    - Bring in two new DPs (both attacking), hopefully both young and who compliment Lopez

May not be a good idea to move "friend of Hernán", who also happens to be our best player. Someone has to be willing to take Gruezo, for like a $1 transfer fee, whatever it takes. Heck, make it a small negative transfer fee. It's better than eating a $2M contract.

Espinoza bleeds Quakes blue and black. Mistake to jettison him.

Yeah, on a team full of broken things, probably not best to rid the team of the one thing that is the most not broken.

No. We're not going to be paid enough to get another player of similar quality to Espinoza and we certainly won't find one who plays for the shirt like he does. We can buy out Gruezo or Bruce will make him WANT to leave but not at the cost of Espinoza.

Who are we talking about? The link died.

Oh, this is bizarre. I can see some of the tweet now that I copied it.
I don't really know players in foreign leagues, so I don't have any strong opinions on this. But we do need some good new players. I'm thinking South Americans to go with our other South American players.

    Go Quakesfans!!

He's a great 33yo player with > 150 caps and > 50 goals for Les Bleus. There's not a ********ing chance in the universe that he'll play for the Quakes.

Well, if he’s 33 he’s probably not a great signing. 33 is a lot of miles for a striker. We need younger guys.

    Go Quakesfans!!

Even I’ve heard of this wanker. :)

Why would he only consider LAFC? Galaxy is insufficiently tinsel?

The superficiality of the Euro soccer star is something to behold.

I'd take Griezmann in a New York minute. It would be the most un-Quakes of Quakes signings ever and would be a real signal that the "let's let everyone else sign great players who increase my investment passively" days are over...

I agree. But Griezmann reportedly won’t play anywhere but inner city LA.

Don't remember anything about this guy tbh. Good amount of starts in 2021 shield winning season(15 starts, 1248 mins), less in 2022(7 starts, 681 mins), injured in 2023, MLS Next Pro player in 2024 after Bruce left and recovering from injury.

Also Dave Romney and Ema Boateng's contracts are up, both have been with Bruce at the Galaxy and New England, would be happy with either coming in.

Not a lot of guys can play well beyond 33. I don't know this player, but he's not a long-term solution.

That's all I'm getting at. And if he's still great at 33 then we can't afford him.

I would guess 1-2 players from NE will move to the Quakes.
