Its better than that. MLS's stats are apparently screwed up. The first time you load the Regular Season it shows what you show. But if you switch the filters and come back it shows: Navarro: 15G 5A Mihailovic: 11G 14A Bassett: 9G 7A Also if you switch to playoff stats it shows all three with their same goal totals but different assist totals. So I'm guessing some filters aren't counting secondary assists and some are just set wrong.
My roster analysis before the option decision deadline tomorrow and my expansion draft protection prediction https://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2024/11/roster-review-and-expansion-draft.html
I have kind of considered that Rosenberry might make a move inside (CB) if we keep Cannon. Not sure if as a backup or starter.
Backup. We need a better starting option at CB than Keegen. Our back like was pretty awful for those last couple of months of the season. We really need to invest in a good CB to pair with Maxsø.
So Remi Cabral and Ethan Badre were released with no offer made. Everyone else was either picked up or had a new (presumably lower) offer given to them. I expect Abubakar, Seb, and Edwards to likely sign those offers. We'll see about Lewis. I'm surprised we brought Keegan back at the same number. I'm also a little surprised we let Remi Cabral walk. Otherwise about what I expected.
Burgundy Wave just reported that Rosenberry met a condition in his contract that automatically triggered his option

https://www.givemesport.com/colorado-rapids-acquire-chidozie-awaziem-fc-cincinnati-sources/ It would appear the CB issue is being addressed.
Murphy reminds me a little of Trusty, Trusty is the superior athlete and a little more versatile but Murphy has shown to be an adequate passer and on-the-ball defender. I think he’s solid in the air. He doesn’t have a “wow factor” but certainly has that solid, consistent vibe to him, He reminds me of Trusty in that he was maybe a little under utilized / trusted at FCC much like Trusty at Philly. Who knows… maybe I’m making a stretch but it feels similar to me. I haven’t really seem much of Awaziem to make an assessment but Cincy did play in a back three (at least in the playoffs) and I just remember watching their playoff game thinking….. they’d looked better in a back four. Jury is out on one but I’m not mad about the move at all. I just think we’ll see how it shakes out in preseason. The fact we’re making move early does bode well. Stark contrast to previous seasons.

I think today’s newspaper article is about the sixth time Abubakar has been mentioned as a “fan favorite.” Not that I claim to know the pulse of the fans, but my family has always thought of him as a mistake waiting to happen. I wonder where this “fan favorite” phrase came from? I do admit he was clearly recognizable.
He is a super nice guy by all accounts and interacted with fans a lot. The haircut just made him stand out.
Interesting news here - Maxsø in talks with a club in the Mid East. Could it be that we will have two new starters at CB in '25? 1866546015022747990 is not a valid tweet id
I had no idea of the news regarding Maxsø being in talks yesterday - but my first thought when we acquired the 2 CBs for a cool million was “what about Maxsø?” It doesn’t make sense to spend such large sums of money when we have a DP CB taking up resources as well. If Maxsø is truly on the move - that would free up a DP spot and his salary. Maybe we are planning on re-signing Abubakar (or nabbing another MLS CB), and then there will a winter DP splash signing incoming they are working on at another position of need? I can’t imagine Armas will sit down and be quiet when it comes to his vision for roster build and our need to go out for DPs in other parts of the field…especially with how hard we faded out at the end of the season
Maxso hasn't been a DP since we bought him down to add Mihailovic. Our DPs are Rafa, Djordje, and Cabral. Unlike a number of people I didn't think yesterday's trade, or even his exposure in the expansion draft, means an automatic departure for Maxso. Murphy is not a plug-and-play starter IMO. He's a good third option that could round into an automatic starter but I saw him as an upgrade on Lalas, not a replacement for Maxso. Now that we know Maxso is hoping to move though, I can see Murphy getting a lot of starts alongside Awaziem. And we probably still need to make a move for CB cover if Maxso moves.
