I think any power 4 school that has a losing record in non conference should be considered hot. no excuse. you control the schedule! If you are a bottom feeder team then schedule easy games to make sure you at least have a winning non conference record!

Big 12 doesn't have a big time team that will be competing for a national title this year like they did with BYU last year. I think it's pretty wide open for the Big 12 title this year. I think it will come down to TCU, OSU, and Colorado. OSU still hasn't given up a goal all season which is impressive. Only them and Auburn can say that!

The bottom teams in the Big 12 are pretty bad but to be fair the bottom team on all the Power 4 conferences are bad

Iowa state might be starting to get warm but I believe he got an extension not too long ago. How is Kansas State not on fire? We’ve been saying this for years but what does Dibbini have on the administration there that he keeps his job?

your right I havent coached at the highest level.

but no excuse for programs like Iowa state and Kansas state to not have winning records in their non conference. The most wins Kansas State had in a single season is 6. Schedule smartly and they could have at least 8. Why play teams like Memphis that they have no chance of beating. They don't need to schedule for RPI because they won't make the tournament anyway. Just schedule 8 guaranteed wins to finish the season at least 8-10. If they schedule 8 easy non conference games then they may have some confidence and then actually win a couple games in the Big 12 and have a chance at a winning season. They have 1 winning season and then they can tell recruits we are flipping this around! not rocket science.

Hell its exactly what Pitt did when Randy Waldrum took over. The first 3 years under Waldrum they played the easiest non conference they could get. just looking for wins. once they started winning they attracted better recruits and once they were better and he thought he had a team that could compete for an NCAA tourney spot he beefed up the non conference a little bit.

Dibbini has a big time donor that's paid for everything that loves him

He is very good at leveraging his relationships, both for career advancement and recruiting, but is just not a very good coach—at least not compared to his current peer group.

You cant just schedule who you want, you walk into a gig and your screwed with previous agreements, contracts, no availability, cost of travel to those teams, some of these teams wont play unless theres a guarantee pay out. Some just don’t want to play.

    Its not that easy.

I agree, some teams should have an easier schedule. However its not that simple

Other than the interim coaches, what other coaches are in the final year of their contract and is on the hot seat?

Dibbini and Fannon are not screwed with previous agreements and contracts unless they screwed themselves. They just don't know how to schedule.

I agree that it's not that simple and yes teams have to agree to play you but usually smaller mid majors will gladly schedule the bottom dweller power 4 programs because what do they have to lose. great chance they actually beat a power 4 team and then have bragging rights.

State cleaned house with assistants over the last couple years, so would expect that seat to be very warm as results haven't really changed. No idea if there are player complaints which would accelerate the need for change.

Is Michigan HC likely in danger if things don't turn around even with another year on contract?

Is it too early to tell which seats will be hot out West? Cal State Bakersfield comes to mind. Who in the Mountain West or WAC should be worried?

NC State is not paying two coaches through 2027. It's 2024. No AD cares enough for that. But not counting COVID, the program made every postseason since 2016 until last year so probably takes more then a few underperforming seasons.

Very early days imo. Teams have 12+ games left and conference hasn't started yet. Table will look completely different in 7 weeks. Even then, as many have pointed out, even coaches who should be worried (if their ADs took soccer as seriously football or basketball), won't be. Fun to speculate though. Got anyone in mind?

They did nothing to quiet the question. You can certainly lose in league, but the manner was not good. Losing 6-0 to Penn St.(Michigan) and 5-0 to Michigan St. (Maryland) is certainly not good to start your league campaign.

Any idea when the Missouri contract is up? 7-0 to Duke and a poor couple of seasons is starting to pile up.

    What is taking the stairs?

she did well at Minnesota but it does appear that Missouri is a struggle for some reason.

does anyone know when the contract year is for Mizzou?

Help me understand why there's such a hate on for Stefanie Golan?

To me, it doesn't look like the program has ever been very strong.

    Golan’s record at mizzou

    2024- 2-4-1 at the moment
    2023- 1-8-1 in conference
    2022- 2-5-3 in conference
    2021- 3-7 in conference

She has gotten worse with each season.

2020- previous coach 6-5-3 record. 3-2-2 in conference

Missouri is probably the less funded school in the SEC. Facilities are poor and at this day and age that matters.

With that being said, coaching changes happen aiming for better results and it doesn’t seem like the case here. Getting warm.

Should Nicole Van Dyke (Washington) also be on the hot seat? After a Sweet 16 in her first season (2020), she went 6-8-4 (4-4-3), 10-6-3 (4-6-1), 9-5-5 (4-4-3) and is now 3-2-2 (0-1) with no tournament appearances. Team is young now but she hasn't made the tournament with any consistency. Massey ranks each season: 17, 51, 31, 50, 75 now.

With how good youth soccer is in Seattle and Colorado
it’s amazing the state flagship universities can’t put it together.. even with the weather.
