So the Associate Head Coach leaving not the Head Coach? That wouldn't constitute to movement at UNC Charlotte.

All 3 have good men's programs. Does that make them more attractive to recruits and coaches?

They also just hired another assistant 2 days ago. Seems like weird timing unless she’s taking one of current openings?

Soccerboy23, what's the movement in Charlotte? Head Coach leaving?

Charlotte has been far from what it was under Cullen. 2023 being their best year since, yet very far from the conference challenger side it once was. One of the assistants left throughout the season, and now an unjustifiable promotion in a program that doesn’t win.
If true, any movement to a better job would just prove the lack of substantial qualified candidates that fit in on what some universities are looking for. Indiana as mentioned is one. Props to Oregon for finding a good and respected one.

Was told there was movement, however looks as if it is just the associate head coach moving on. She came with Head Coach from from Wake Forest. Quick to jump the gun on this one, will own that.

This guy was at NDSU years ago under the previous coach. Wonder what he's been doing for the last 5 years? Maybe a press release will say so...

First - What is that? An amateur 6 week summer league right? I mean VMI is what it is, they should be in D3. Not knocking the guy but it looks like he's taking the VMI job maybe for the health insurance.

I'm still trying to understand how FIU are offering a starting salary of 50K on their job listing for the Head Women's Soccer Coach?? The Men's coach earns 115K.

As opposed to an amateur 10-12 week season?? Success is success…
But I agree with you, VMI is certainly one of the most difficult jobs in the country surely would be in the top 2,3 if you made a list of hardest places to win in ncaa D1…so yes mostly likely took the job for the health insurance.

Yeah, that's my bad. I googled him after I saw the tweet and that's the first thing that popped up; should have looked a little harder. Looks like he's been an HC at two spots before.

The job posting is to the 'Head Coach pool' so I very much doubt that is the salary. The job is a lot more attractive after the last coach turned the program around and assuming it will get quite a lot of interest. If FIU want to continue to build the program moving forward, they won't be able to attract a good coach for that salary.

It was a tough job and it will be an even tougher job now with the changing landscape. Massive financial issues within the athletic department has demolished budgets. Would not be shocked if 50k was the real salary. Why do you think the whole staff got out while they could? I would stay away from this one unless you just want a cushy retirement job that has no expectations for winning.

“Turned the program around” is quite the statement. Yes he did win more, and yes he has nothing to do with C-USA conference realignment, but that conference became considerably weaker since Garbar first took the job.
Rice, UNT, UTSA, UAB, ODU, Charlotte, FAU all left the conference. Credit where it’s due, winning games is important, but those wins would arguably not have happened against most of the schools mentioned

The same applies to SFA joining a weaker Southland Conference and winning it all. Meanwhile, a tremendous job for A&M CC in that same league.

On the opposite side of that, Arizona and Arizona State underperformed in the Big12 given the strength of the former PAC-12.

Why are you ruining a perfectly subjective illogical argument with facts and trends??
    Outrageous!

I did hear a coach tell me she was going to work with Brandi at UNC Charlotte. Not sure if that is in place of the Assoc HC or if the new hire didn't work out. But HC not going anywhere at this time.

And VCU just did a presser and social media about their new recruits without having a Head Coach in place? Makes you wonder what those players are thinking right now?

And the Mt St Mary's salary stinks. I would bet anyone right now that the D3 Gettysburg hire up the street will make more than the 66K the Mount is offering...
