Western Illinois offered the Youngstown Assistant Coach - She turned it down. They will appoint the current assistant coach as interim who's father is the mens coach. Off topic but two very attractive D2 jobs open: Grand Valley & Lenoir Rhyne
At some of the HBCU soccer programs, there are more non-Black players on the roster than Black players. It's kind of strange to see. This year Grambling and Alabama State stood out.
Texas A&M has only 1 season above .500 in conference since 2020, and that was 4-3-3. And they've lost all starting field players from this past season. Final year of G's contract in 2025.
G has 2 seasons left on his contract but buyout drops a lot after this season. Has lost all of his starters minus GK from 2024, just forced longtime associate HC out the door. I’d say A&M and Houston are scalding at this point, no?
I would agree that Texas A&M would definitely be hot. Would imagine G has 2 years to get things turned around. I would also suspect Florida is hot. On paper their recruiting has gone pretty well. they brag about their commitments on social media all the time. At the end of the day you have to win games though. If they miss the SEC tournament again I think they could be gone

Please stop reporting posts for "slander" (it's libel btw) or I'll remove your ability to access the thread or forum. It's not BigSoccer's responsibility to police every comment you don't like. That said, it's also not a site to house made up bullshit either - so unless you have some source or basis for posting about a person, please keep it to yourself. I didn't know this was an exclusive D1 thread? GV is clearly well funded and dominates in several sports in d2. LR is much smaller and not as well funded and in a very competitive area with d2 all over. At YSU, you mean Green? He is a GK coach and his wife Mandy is a recruiting guru, a college recruiting consultant - and that wasn't enough to really elevate the YSU program very much.
There is another SEC coach who, IMO, most definitely should be on the hot seat this fall. I'm not privy to the AD's thoughts, but I certainly think this manager has been a major miss. I don't want to name her/him because I'm a fan of the program and don't want to be the source of negative publicity (ha, ha)--yet---but this coach has seemed out of her/his depth from the start, makes transparently bad personnel decisions and has plainly not gotten it done. It doesn't surprise me: I didn't at all like the hire in the first place.
Mizzou is likely feeling some heat. the Florida assistant believes he should be running the program so if he has the ear of an administrator that could perhaps be an issue for the coach, but you would think there is some more time there before anything changes after the Amato firing.
GV is the best D1 program in D2 - minimum starting salary for HC $80,000 - which is better than many D1 mid or low level programs. Allow myself to introduce, mmmm, myself, I'm a "Recruiting Guru" - ha - I wonder who dubbed her that? I don't know her at all - so perhaps she is. I just wonder what qualifies a person for that title - haha
Mandy Green is a paid recruiting and coaching consultant with Dan Tudor. I can't believe you didn't just look her up. She's listed here as Vice President and has a brand called "busy coach" I believe. I've heard her speak and she's good! Not good enough for S. Dakota or YSU apparently. https://dantudor.com/contact-us/
100% agree with this. Lots of smart coaches who love the game and want to teach soccer and don't want to be in the 3-5 year frying pan that is D1 soccer, have realized D2 and D3 soccer is very rewarding. I think more and more will be realizing that in this new environment we are in now in D1 sports. Players would be smart to be more open to D2 and D3 options as well....imho. now - back to your talk about the D1 frying pan...
I DID know that about Mandy and Dan Tudor - I just don't see it making anyone a recruiting "guru". You know what DOES make someone a recruiting guru? Someone who actually brings in top talent, perhaps above the level that the program warrants. And yes I'm aware there are other D2s that pay above $80,000....."lots of them", I'm not sure about that. I know I was offered a HC position about 5 years ago at a D2 in one of the top conferences in the country - and the salary was $68,000 (so maybe now it is 80)......my point was the salary is indicative of the level of support, and expectations......kinda like Kennessaw State 20-25 years ago
That sounds about right. The day a coach goes there and has a .500 season they should be the national coach of the year. speaking of big jobs- any word on Chicago state?

Agreed that this would be unusual. No sign on the Indiana website in that it still shows van Bennekom as head coach at this time. I watched him when he was Associate Head Coach at Duke for a number of years in the 2017- 2018 range as I recall. He looked very impressive in that role. I understand the he has had a bad year, but he was doing well in 2023. I wouldn't think that one bad year would have him removed. Maybe he was made an offer he couldn't resist?
